All Ireland Hurling Final 2021
All Ireland day and not a peep from the Irish on here?
Pack of sasanach gimps the lot of ya.
vs
Fastest and toughest sport on the planet.
For the non Irish, Cork are the underdogs but have a really good team that is strong in most departments.
Whereas Limerick are the favourites and have a team that pretty much has no weaknesses and that is top notch physically, mentally and skillfully. Think Liverpool in our recent title winning season and Limerick are the ghurling equivalent of that.
Could be a cracking game if both teams play to their abilities, but one that will require a sub par Limerick perfromance for Cork to win methinks. Problem Cork have is that Limerick tend to not have bad games. They may have parts of games where the underperform, like in the semi final, but as they showed in that game when they were badly under the cosh, they are mentality monsters that will force their way back into games and then push the other team onto the back foot and beat them.
A little torn on the game myself. Am Limerick born, but lived in Cork for a number of years and am currently living just on the Cork side of the Cork/Limerick border.
My feeling is come the final whistle it will be a case of Luimneach Abu yet again as I think they are just too strong, too fast, and too well drilled. Not to mention that fierce will to win they have to a man and that dogged refusal to roll over for any team

Home since Friday Jaco - lived in Clare for 35 years but born in Cork and grew up going to matches with my Dad. Went to UCC and hung around with loads of Cork GAA heads so kept it up for years. Was at the last all Ireland win in 2005 (Istanbul also that year) and many others over the years.
Nothing beats Munster hurling and especially in Semple stadium. Here beside my Dad watching the build up - Cork flags outside the window. I fully expect Limerick to win (and comfortably) but Cork are coming back....... winning a lot underage, City clubs on the up.
Dinner with the family and then the game

Going to be a hell of a final I reckon. Two top notch teams in their prime. Neither is going to be shy in attacking either.
And welcome home. Hope you have a lovely trip back.
Avoid Limerick city centre today though if you are about. Was talking to someone on the phone earlier today that lives there and was told that a certain unsettled section of the community have pretty much taking over a part of the city centre ( was told they have blocked off a fair bit of Thomas street for themselves) as there is one of their funerals on so expect lots of what they claim is part of their culture to occur as the evening wears on up there.

After living in Clare for most of his life, he defo has a banner accent and not a Cork one.
Get him to say langer or gimp and it will be clear pretty quickly whether or not he has any bit of a Cork accent left in him.

I lived in Shannon most of my life and we have the most neutral Irish accent around - so many people relocated here from all over the country that it blended into one. 5 miles out the road and I find it hard to understand them
My Dad and Mum never lost their accent

Was in Limerick yesterday - milk market at 8 and a bag of fish for dinner yesterday (prawns, scallops, haddock, hake ). Town was quiet to be honest - we hung around until 11 as herself wanted to get stuff for the kids in Pennies
Went for a lovely walk this morning in Cratloe and heading West on Tuesday for a few days

If it helps I have been told for most of my life that I have a Galway accent, especially when I am annoyed.
For years I wondered if there had been a milkman from Galway delivering to the house before I was born because no side of my family are from Galway or Mayo.
Up the Clare hills by Cratloe is nice for a walk or up as far as the Golf ball. Been years since I was up there. Been years since I was near the Milk Market in Limerick as well.
Pennys or AAAAHHH Pennys. I will never ever understand the attraction with that place. Is the same with Pennys in Wilton.
Is also funny that there is always one Pennys in a city that is THE Pennys and the other ones get marginalised by comparison.
The Oconnell street one in Limerick over the Crescent shooping centre one and the Wilton one in Cork over the Patrick street one.
AHHHHH Pennys

Cork score again and it's 1-5 to 1-4
Limerick go right down the other end again and it is a GOAL
2-5 to 1-4 now
Every time Cork score it just seems to rile the Limerick team

Surely they cannot keep this pace up for the entire game. Going to be a crazy scoreline if both teams keep attacking like this

Cork need goals and two or three of them I think to slow this Limerick team down.

Another point for Limerick
2-11 to 1-7 now.
Cork are going to be in trouble soon if they do not halt this Limerick charge

This is an awesome display of hurling by Limerick today.
Pushing a very very good Cork team back and imposing their will on them.
The scoreline does not even reflect fully just how good Limerick have been.

Cork finally reply with a point
2-13 to 1-8
And what do Limerick do? Go straight back on the attack and get a point of their own
2-14 to 1-8

I could never get into hurling. Look like I'm not on my own there.
I do enjoy the odd GAA game though. I don't really have any skin in the game though so I don't exactly follow it. We'd go to a game in Donegal the if its on and it's super friendly and welcoming which is a surprise given we're a few nordy prods.

This is a belter of a game tbf. Am stuck indoors for a bit today so bored enough to type he scores lol
The two best counties in the country this year going at it and Limerick are rising to the threat of playing a great team and just mauling them now.

Cork need to be careful, they are already 9 points behind and it is nit even half time yet.
Limerick have a habit of being much better in the second half of games so if that happens this could be a slaughter.

Cork get a point back
And Limerick just fly at them and score twice in under a minute
2-17 to 1-10

WOW
Limerick get another goal. What a play
3-17 to 1-10
Cork need the half time whistle to come and fast. They are getting battered here.
