I know they are shit in Europe and have no chance of ever winning it, but I am assuming there is more to the story?

I bet its to do with the whole FFP fiasco. They really have a bee in the bonnets about that ever happening and that it only got relaxed to appease PSG rather than anything they said.

Why would City get fined? Violence is one thing but booing? Fucking hell that's pathetic.

Patrick Vieira could be in line to succeed Manuel Pellegrini as Manchester City manager should he prove a success in his new job after leaving his role as the Premier League club's Under-21 coach to become boss of Major League Soccer side New York City. (Times - subscription required)

Good. It was a bit of a joke that they even thought it was a thing to punish anyway.

How the fuck have they left themselves so short in attack and in a mess at the back with all the money spent.

Bought Sterling for 49m and sold Djeko to balance the books. Who's the kid they got on to replace Aguero?

Crazy isn't it, take Aguero out and they're woefully short up top and they're awful at the back.

They miss Silva more than anyone else I think. Silva is their metronome as Yaya goes missing too often. When they have Aguero, Yaya and Silva all on song, they are virtually unstoppable.

When they have everyone fit they look great but how can they look so bad when players are out with all the cash they have available.

Our bench looked better than theirs today which says something.

Silva is their main man alright, sensational player. Yaya has decided to go into early retirement. I did think De Bruyne looked excellent tonight though, so dangerous. Their defence is an absolute travesty.

Otamendi is very good though. They need an overhaul alright, Delph looked sad out there.

Their squad isn't particularly good for the outlay that's for sure. That said that applies to most teams in this league, the lack of quality is disgusting for the money spent. Spending 20 and 30m + on 10m players just because we all can.

Only have to look at our own squad, which is why I am so happy with Klopp. There are so many good players out there now that most teams can assemble a decent squad, but it's very difficult to put together a top squad, that's where the manager comes in. When everyone is of a similar quality then the manager make a whole lot of difference.

Good young player with potential, nothing more at this stage. Technically has one of the worst first touches I have seen and is more an athlete than a natural footballer IMO

Manchester City announce 265m deal with Chinese investment group

A consortium of Chinese businesses have invested 400 million US dollars to take a 13 per cent share in the City Football Group (CFG) The club, known to have a huge and growing fan base in Asia, is owned by Sheikh Mansour’s Qatar-based City Football Group (CFG)

The owners of Manchester City Football Club today announced a multi-million pound partnership deal with Chinese investors.

A consortium of Chinese businesses have invested 400 million US dollars to take a 13 per cent share in the City Football Group (CFG)

The club, known to have a huge and growing fan base in Asia, is owned by Sheikh Mansour’s Qatar-based City Football Group (CFG).

The group, run under parent company Abu Dhabi United Group, also owns New York City and Melbourne City football clubs.

The deal announced today follows a visit to Manchester last month by the President of China, Xi Jinping.

The consortium is being led by a leading Chinese media, entertainment, sports and internet company CMC (China Media Capital) Holdings.

The club said the deal would ‘create an unprecedented platform for the growth of CFG clubs and companies in China and internationally’.

The deal, which equates to 265m, is subject to regulatory approval and follows more than six months of discussions between parties.

Something sis terribly wrong with football/the world when a team who have never progressed as far as CL semi finals and who cant fill a stadium they dont own are worth 2 billion pound.

I don't think they have valued City at 2bn - it is the collective City group which owns City, New York FC and Melbourne.

Melbourne was purchased for $12m, New York was set-up with $100m. They're a tiny part of the value.

I think this is part of the group that Evans claimed were buying us some time back. Makes sense now that Sun Jihai was entered into their hall of fame and that the Chinese leader visited their ground recently. Money always finds money

It does make you want to give up watching football. Truly depressing. I would say FIFA/UEFA have to do something to stem the influence of money in the game but we all know they won't.

The article in question suggested that it was the Chinese governments investmest vehicle that tried to buy us - not an individual. They are the ones that have bought a share of City now.

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/...cle2674143.ece

It was the same as DIC - it was the Dubai royal family's investment vehicle used to purchase assets around the globe.
