That's a big number for a Championship striker. Guess they aren't buying Origi then

It seems madness given that at the start of last season he was supposed to be involved in the first team, obviously then he got injured and spent the second half of the season on loan at Swansea where he averaged a goal every 2 games. His style is no different now to what it was then, and the same applies to our forward line, I have worried about where he fits in, IMO he is a different option, he is a more traditional centre forward, I can't help but think if we bring him on for the last 20 or 30 mins when we need a goal he could come on and deliver. If we fell that he isn't ready now, surely there is a host of PL clubs who would pay a few million to take him on loan for the season and off the back of any half decent season his value increases fairly significantly.

The only way it makes sense is if we really worry about him finding a position to play in and we currently don't have a pot to piss in.

I do think he has age on his side to learn and grow into whatever role Klopp sees fit for him. He has all the attributes to play for us. He may not be a false 9 type forward, or an explosive winger, but he has pace, movement and an eye for goal. Klopp went from Lewandowski to Immobile and Aubameyang. He's used to working with a variety of forwards and getting them to fit.

With Firmino (28, turning 29 in October), Salah (28), Mane (28), Shaqiri (28, turning 29 in October), Origi (25), and Minamino (25), I'd feel uncomfortable selling our hot attacking prospect now, even if we insert a buy back clause in. There's no certainty as to when finances will recover, or how his development would go at another club. Keep him here, and let him learn the ropes with us, or loan him for one more year.

I think you've captured it perfectly. If he got the raw materials, surely hes young enough to evolve his skill set?

I kind of wonder what the situation with Harry Wilson is because I think he is the type of player who would be suited to the wide roles we play, (obviously he's not the level of Salah or Mane) and I worry a bit that he doesn't have the pace but we haven't really seen him given a go so I have no idea what his level would be with good players around him. I'd been assuming that Brewster was seen as the better talent and would be the one to get game time.

In football nothing ever stands still. Our much vaunted front 3 has been together for 3? seasons now. We need to have a succession plan to subtlety integrate and replace everyone of them eventually

sell him for 25milion with a buy back that can be activated at the end of any season for £35million.

He looks a terrific prospect but by the looks of things we could do with the money.

The situation with Wilson is that he isn't good enough at football to play for Liverpool. I think it's as simple as that.

He's good at free kicks though

Klopp wasn't particularly glowing with praise for Brewster in the post match in preseason after he scored two. Basically said his finishing is excellent but his general play needs work.

Same with brewster except substitute free kick ability for finishing.

Perhaps he will be one day but at the moment, nowhere near the level of the front three who are 3 of the best footballers on the planet.

From what I have seen of Brewster, his build up play is not close to Minamino or Shaqiri and behind Divock as well.

Buy back clause and a sale of 20mil to cover ourselves with Thiago if Gini leaves seems like a smart move.

We don't know whether he would be a consistent performer for us. I would loan him again this season as he will not get enough games at present. Can always then recall in case of a disaster.

I have complete trust in the club. Youngsters who seem to be able to absorb and implement our style of play are given opportunities to play. Browser and Wilson haven't been given chances in must win games or even important cup ties and so they can't be ready or up to it. Looking at Williams, Elliot and Jones, age isn't a factor

When Andros Townsend was starting his career, i'd never seen him play and thought when people mentioned his name they were mocking Andy Townsend as his commentary was dross.

£32million on Ollie Watkins? Would be putting money on Brentford winning the championship next year as they will invest that money with shrewd recruitment...

I was just reading that we had a friendly game with Huddersfield reserves for the guys that didn't start at the weekend, the likes of Minamino, Origi, Grujic started, but Brewster and Wilson were on the bench. Not sure if there were fitness issues but it's not looking like he is going to be involved much here, surely a loan or transfer beckons?
