He’s so confident with the ball. Can receive it anywhere on the pitch and has a trick to get him out of trouble if needed.

Hugely skillful player. He had one moment in the first half when we were attacking down the right where he took the ball in his stride with such smoothness and perfect control. He needs to play more.

I think he'll get a lot of game time this season given how things are going with injuries, it's a big opportunity to establish himself.

His maturity for a 19 year old is pretty remarkable. What a player he's going to be.

Such a talent and already contributing - will be a regular player this season and could fill the void if we don’t sign a Ginny replacement

He's going to score with one of those near post shots at some point this season.

He is really taking strides right now isn't he? Good performance and kind of surprised me.

I thought he was good alright. As someone above said, hard to remember that he is only 19. He is probably at the best club with the best manager to fulfill his undoubted potential.
There was one or two moments where he nearly got caught out. Once in the second half where him and Neco tried to overplay a little. And another where he played it across our box and almost got caught out with an interception. However, love how he has the balls to play those kind of passes and he has some talent alright.
Think a league goal or two will do him the world of good as well.
His pass for Robbo in the lead up to our second goal was class.

And this could be one of the reasons why we are not (the club hierarchy, not the fans) overly concerned with Gini's contract situation and are willing to let him leave (amicably) if terms cannot be met.

crazy move though - Gini has been brilliant...... hoping to see that he has signed a new contract. If we were looking to sign a new midfielder and Gini played for someone else, we'd be all over it.
I wonder is it more than money with Gini. Remember when Milner wanted to leave city because he wanted to play center midfield more? I wonder does Gini want to play #8 / #10 a bit more?

I don’t recall a young player looking instantly at home since the like of Gerrard. Even Trent took a while to bed in.
He’s amazing, and he seems to have the potential to get much much better.

if he played for Ajax, then we'd be saying that we should sign him.
Fair play to the lad - if he keeps it up, then Jurgen Klopp could have a selection headache when players like Ox and Naby are back

It's only early days but he already brings more than ox or keita.

To me he looks slightly less powerful than Gerrard at that age, but slightly better technically.
Got some amazing talent to push him on in training.. Very exciting.

If Gini goes (which I still hope doesn't happen) it looks like he could be the ready made replacement.

It will be hard for a 19 year old to play as many games as Gini each season. Gini will be a massive miss given how many of our midfielders are made out of play-dough.

I'm not disputing that, just think he has shown that he can step up and looks ready for regular games, if Gini goes and assuming our first choice midfield is 3 from Henderson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Thiago, IMO Jones looks the most likely to break into that group and looks like he could do the job...

I guess it depends on whether Ox and Naby can stay fit for long enough - Klopp certainly likes Naby. But I agree - if Curtis is on the team sheet I have no concerns - he belongs in that company.

This is a real issue. We cannot rely on play-dough players and Milner is now getting older than me, so we need reinforcements.
Will the final ChampionsLeague game be a chance to give some of the other young midfielders a run out?

The last goal saw him carry the ball, swerve to make some room for the long pass to TAA, it was good to see
His close control under pressure is superb for a 19 year old too! Wijnaldumesque!

Reminds me a lot of Leon Goretzka at times. Maybe not quite as far along in his development as Goretzka was at 19 and not played as many games as Goretzka had at the same age, but has something to his play that reminds me a hell of a lot of the German.
Very similar old head on young shoulders thing to what Goretzka had at the time and a very similar ability to physically match players with much more experience under their belts. Not to mention that little touch of a mongrel to his play that sees him not in the slightest bit overawed by occasion or player.
Even his close control, ball retention, accurate passing and willingness to go box to box, not to mention the way he seems to have an eye for a crack at goal all have shades of a young Goretzka.

He carried the ball forward quite well but on one fast break salah was pointing for Curtis to play the ball ahead for salah to run onto and it all sort of fizzled out as wolves then got back.

I'm gonna feel dirty saying this but his play reminds a bit of Scholes.
Sorry.

Yet. There's time
I wasn't actually thinking about the cuntish side of his game. It's rather how he finds space and his passing that brings the wee ginger twat to mind. That's where it ends though as I hated Scholes and have big hopes Jones.
