Yup, unfortunately he's now a "supa star" in his own eyes and appears to believe the hype being spun about him. If he went back and watched the videos of his defeats he'll see that he gets dragged into the oppositions types of fights rather than how he should be boxing.

Until he changes that he'll get beaten by the better fighters out there, I think he's got a lot of potential still but time is running out for him to actually start to realise it properly, needs to learn the buck stops with him when he gets beaten and needs to ask why it's happening (glass jaw and doesn't follow the plan!)

Lets not kid ourselves Roach was never really going to improve Khan's defensive skills. It's the same with a lot of Roach's fighters, defensively they're not very good as he specialises in offensive skills. It will be interesting to see who Khan brings in. Personally, I have a feeling he will replace Roach with brother Nazim Richardson.

Cool.

Whatever Khan does, it is clear to me that the only person who did something about his suspect chin was his ex conditioning coach, Alex Ariza. I think he was Khans biggest recent loss. Under his strength and fitness training Khan was never knocked down. Shame that they fell out really.

Theres rumours it'll be Virgil Hunter but nothing confirmed. I hope more thought has gone in to it than 'Andre Ward is great, he's excellent defensively so the same will happen to me' but him and his team of yes men are sadly thick as shit.

So it seems he is sticking with a Stateside coach. Interesting.

Amir Khan's next fight will be against the unbeaten Carlos Molina in Los Angeles on 15 December.

The Bolton boxer has lost his last two fights, to Danny Garcia in July and Lamont Peterson last December.

Apparently kicked off in Birmingham tonight when 5 blokes tried to steal his car.

Amir Apparently laid 3 of them out.

BOXING

Promoter Eddie Hearn says talks have begun over a possible fight between Britons Kell Brook and Amir Khan.

The unbeaten Sheffield welterweight Brook faces an IBF welterweight world title eliminator on Saturday 20 October 20 against Argentine Hector Saldivia, with Randall Bailey defending the title against Devon Alexander in New York on the same night.

Khan returns to action on 15 December against Carlos Molina in Los Angeles after defeat by Danny Garcia in July.

"I spoke with Khan's team a month or so ago and again after their appearance on Ringside [Sky programme], it's certainly a fight that can be made," said Hearn.

Last chance saloon: Why Amir Khan needs to raise spirits by downing Carlos Molina
10 Dec 2012 10:46

British boxer's credibility is on the line if he doesn't dispatch the carefully chosen Californian, writes David Anderson

Amir Khan doesn't drink alcohol, but it's fair to say that this week he's sipping a Coke or an orange juice in the last chance saloon.

After losing his last two fights, he knows he can't afford any more slip-ups.

He's two strikes down and a third will see him slink back to Bolton with his gloves under his arm.

That's how high the stakes are ahead of Saturday's fight with Carlos Molina at the Los Angeles Sports Arena.

Khan's credibility as a force on the world stage could not take another defeat and just a week after his 26th birthday, he would be finished as a top-level fighter.

That, though, ain't going to happen and despite Molina being talked up as an unbeaten fighter at light-welterweight, he has been carefully picked by Khan's US promoter Golden Boy.

His record of just seven stoppages from his 17 wins suggests he doesn't have the heavy hands to trouble Khan's chin.

Molina has only fought outside his native California four times - in far flung Texas and Nevada - in his five-year pro career so he is only really at domestic level.

He's never fought a 12-rounder before, so Saturday is uncharted territory for him.
No, it should all point to a relatively straight-forward win for Khan inside the distance.

The earlier, the better Khan will look, and he doesn't want Molina taking him the full 12 rounds.

Before Khan dispatches Molina, he will want to show off some of the new tricks he has learnt from Virgil Hunter.

Hunter has been talking about how he's getting Khan to think his way through fights, waiting for his moment and picking his shots, rather than going for the KO all the time.
I don't know if Molina will hang around long enough to let us see just how much Khan has taken on board during his first training camp with Hunter.

Beating Molina won't tell us that Khan is back and it will merely allow Golden Boy to put his name in the mix for some bigger, possibly world title, fights in 2013.

Golden Boy have plenty of fighters at 140 and 147 pounds, such as Victor Ortiz and Paulie Malignaggi.

If Khan were to meet one of them after Molina, then we really would be able to judge exactly where he is and how much he is learning from Hunter.

I think it's a tad unfair to say Khan lost to the droided up Lamont Peterson.

Completely agree. That should be struck from the records. I'm not khans biggest fan and the lad will never go unbeaten for long periods but he's heavy handed and skilful. He will be a world champ again and he will lose sensationally again. He's exciting to watch and that's fine by me.

Nah, he'll win this one.

He's fantastic to watch. That last fight he was in I almost felt sorry for the guy he was fighting because he was dishing out a two handed pummelling, but then one hit and it was over.

That Maidana fight as well - he was hammered across the whole ring for 3 or 4 rounds.

Khan is brilliant offensively, blisteringly fast and comically bad for taking a punch.

I think he will win really, I just said that with JMM and backed it and he won.

Hoping it works twice. , Molina doesn't really have amazing knock out power, which should allow Amir to fight without having to worry as much. will be interesting to see what Hunter had done to his defensive work though.

If he followed his trainer's gameplan he would still be Champ. Has no one but himself to blame for where he is. Boxed 2 beautiful rounds against Garcia then went all Hollywood on him and got caught. If he boxes he wins, trades and there is every chance he will get sparked. One thing he must learn though, FFS try and take a count and not be too brave in getting up and pretending you are ok.

Like DarthMarty says, he is so exciting to watch still!

I agree with Warren that Khan isnt ready (He cant even clinch properly yet ffs) but he also should be stepping it up, he should of taken care of the domestic scene now and now be moving on towards a fight with people like Romanov. He's done nothing of the sort and is still fighting no marks or people out of their weight class (or both).

Froch just saying Molina shouldn't trouble Khan too much, also said that now he's with this new trainer, Khan will be working a lot more on defence and movement.

Also, also, he said on Tyson Fury, 'That boy can fight'.
