Obviously the first line was shithouse but fair play to him for admitting it and not being a nob about it.

Still terrible though.

Cant see why the blues get upset with him talking absolute shite can you? These are just from the last few weeks!!

Martinez on Tom Cleverley :

“I think you do not have a better English player. Technically, he is as good as you get. The way he executes, how he reads the game, for me he is one of the most sensational you are going to see in Premier League history.

“I wouldn’t sell him for any money in the current market. I want to see him go from strength to strength because I know there is so much more to come.”

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...Cleverley.html

Martinez on Stones :

"Whatever criticism from outside we accept, but John Stones is in the right environment to fulfil his potential as one of the greatest players England has ever seen."

http://www.theguardian.com/football/...-england-great

Martinez on Gareth Barry :

"For me, he is one of the best English players ever. He could reach 600 Premier League appearances this season."

Everton takeover latest: Blues deal with US pair edges closer

American investors John Jay Moores and Charles Noell in advanced stage of talks

Everton look set to be taken over by US investors John Jay Moores and Charles Noell within the next fortnight.

The Echo understands it looks increasingly likely a deal in the region of £200m will go through before the end of the month.

The approach by the former San Diego Padres owner JJ Moores and his associate Charles Noell was first reported in December, and talks have now advanced to such an extent that a finalised agreement is close.

It is believed that two potential China-based buyers also remain interested, but talks have progressed so far with the American pair that any other proposals would only be considered if a deal-breaking late bump in the road occurred.

Moores and Noell have spent the last six weeks carrying out due diligence on the club's books, and holding talks with the Blues biggest shareholders; chairman Bill Kenwright, Robert Earl and Jon Woods.

They are now at a stage where a deal in principle is close to being finalised to buy the majority shareholding in the club.

Moyes got telt

http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/art...s-2957511.aspx

Quote:
Barnsley FC has been asked by a significant number of fans to clarify the situation regarding the recent comments made by David Moyes on Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday and attributed to him on the Mirror website on 14 February 2016 and elsewhere, regarding the fee paid by Everton for the transfer of John Stones from our Club.

Ordinarily, we would not comment on matters of speculation, but the article on the Mirror website carries the headline, “David Moyes reveals Everton paid just £1.25million to sign John Stones from Barnsley.”

The amount paid by Everton to Barnsley is Commercial in Confidence, and we would have expected that David Moyes would be bound by that obligation of confidentiality to his former employer.

However, given the categoric nature of the assertion made, it is incumbent on Barnsley FC to correct such a statement when it is markedly and unequivocally wrong and yet is made by someone that the public might think is authoritative on the subject.

This is particularly the case since he has cited the same erroneous fee on previous occasions also. David Moyes played no part in any negotiation with Barnsley FC concerning the transfer of John Stones, which may explain why he is mistaken as to the fee paid.

Everton will announce they have been sold in a £200million takeover in the next few days.

But sources on Merseyside would not confirm the buyer and would only insist it is not the American consortium linked with the club at the end of last year. It is believed the new owners are a mystery group from the Middle East.

Insiders at Everton told this newspaper that it was at too sensitive a stage to even discuss the name of the buyer but an announcement is imminent – and possibly before Tuesday’s away game at Aston Villa in the Barclays Premier League.

The new owners will immediately have to deal with doubts about the future of the club’s best players, especially John Stones – who is a target for Manchester City and could fetch around £45million in the summer transfer window.

Interest from America was strong. A group led by the former owner of the San Diego Padres baseball team, John Jay Moores, and fellow entrepreneur Charles Noell were in talks with Everton owner and Coronation Street star Bill Kenwright.

Moores and Noell were also thought to be interested in Swansea but reached a point before Christmas where they were ready to perform due diligence on the accounts at Goodison Park.
They were actually among a number of interested parties from the US. In October a consortium with links to Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City had also considered an offer for the Premier League club.

While reports claimed Moores and Noell had been granted a period of exclusivity by Kenwright until the end of January to examine Everton’s finances.

But now a Middle East group is understood to have come forward with a solid offer Kenwright and the club’s shareholders appear ready to accept after a decade-long search for a new owner.

Quote:
Former Arsenal shareholder Farhad Moshiri has manoeuvred himself into position to buy Everton from under the noses of the American consortium led by John Jay Moores.

Red and White Holdings on Friday confirmed that Moshiri had sold his stake in the company to Arsenal’s second largest shareholder Alisher Usmanov in a move that allows him to make a bid for Everton, with an announcement over the ownership of the Goodison Park club expected in the next few days.

Everton had been in talks over a £200million sale with former San Diego Padres owner Moores and fellow entrepreneur Charles Noell, but sources close to the club now believe Moshiri is hopeful of agreeing a deal.

Other than Moores, Everton have held negotiations with a wealthy Jordanian over the ownership of the club while there has also been interest from two China-based groups.
But Moshiri’s apparent willingness to allow Everton’s 70-year-old chairman Bill Kenwright to remain in a position of power at the club, at least in the short term, gives him an advantage.

Phew, don't panic. Moshiri is no oil baron. He's a bean counter and no doubt penny pincher:

Ardavan Farhad Moshiri (Persian: اردوان فرهاد ﻣﺸﻴﺮى‎‎) born 18 May 1955) is a British-Iranian businessman and investor, who resides in Monaco.[3] Moshiri owns and has shares in numerous steel and energy companies in the UK and Russia.[4]

Moshiri is a chartered accountant and previously worked for Ernst & Young, PKF and Deloitte.[5]

I would say any chance of a stadium going on Stanley park has long gone, especially with us building the new stand and it kicking off a redevelopment of the anfield area.

He's worth slightly more than Mike Ashely.

Roughly £19BN behind City owners personal wealth and maybe £450BN behind the wealth of his family
