What have Arsenal won in recent years?

The point is Chelsea have won lots lately, still nobody has any real value towards their so-called 'history' or heritage.

Same goes for Aston Villa, not won anything for ages, but still a club with history and heritage. Spurs too.

Until last year, Ajax hadnt won a lot for nearly a decade and won next to nothing in Europe for ages. Their name still has more prestige than Man City/Chelsea and the club has a rich history.

So you're agreeing with me then - time is the difference.

For clubs to have a distinguished heritage/history they must have had a period of winning things in the past.

If Chelsea or Man City go through a period of being dominant then in 30 years time I'm sure they'll have 'history' too.

Chelsea have been winning things for the past decade or so, hasnt made much of a difference.

So no, i dont agree with you. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Since the Carling Cup final last season, they've won 4 out of 18 league games.

Relegation form.

Where's gracious gooner and the big gap crew?

Would be interesting to see what games they have until xmas compared to what we have (aren't we due a run of some easy games soon)?

Arsenal not in the CL could seriously f*ck them up, despite what Wenger says. If they can't afford to buy players while they were IN IT, then what chance when they're not? The likes of Van Persie will say his goodbyes, and the likes of Paul Konchesky will be drafted in. :s

Oh dear

They really are all over the place. Out of contention for Europe by Christmas I reckon. Pitty spuds got Parker, they're going to push us all the way again this season.

I still think Spurs have had some easier away games (the ones they've won, i mean) and it's showing them in a slightly better light than they actually are.

And Adebayor has a habit of doing great for the first 2-3 months at a new club and then fading.

We're favourites for 4th with the bookies and i'd have to agree with them based on what i've seen so far.

Ouch. Along with van Persie, he's their only true great player left, and van Persie will be injured soon enough.

With Arsenal's implosion, 4th is there for the taking. I'll be gutted if spurs finish up 4th, Redknapp is shite & we'll have really missed out on a big chance to get back in the CL.

In fact, Arsenal's league form since the League Cup final is worse than what i posted:

DDDWDDWDDLWLLDDLLWLWL

21 league games and only 24 points taken....those two recent victories were against Swansea and Bolton at home.

It's relegation form.

Not quite relegation form, but not far off. They will improve after the January window, but that will be too late for them to rescue anything from the season.

Worst Arsenal team I can remember. Take out RVP and they are no better than Bolton or Wolves IMO.

I quite like Gervinho but he might be the worst finisher in the PL.

Mertesacker is definitely not the player MattShark advertised him to be. Still I guess he deserves some time to bed in.

Sagna has broken his leg.

When I saw the replay straight after, I squirmed as I could see it bend out of shape, but it seemed straight when he was on the ground. Was surpised no else mentioned it on the telly to be honest.

It was obviously a shocker right away, you could see from his ankle and his reaction. Scummy Spurs fans still gave him dogs abuse.

Both sets of fans shamed themselves yesterday, hot on the heels of the Bitters embarrassment on Saturday.

I have no idea what he's like personality wise, but he's one of their better players. Can't see them picking up many points for the next few months with these injuries to an already meh sqad.

Doesn't he have a fresh young batch of players coming through?
I remember not so long ago that I read he had players who were going to come through, that would be better than those he had in first team. I guess wilshere was the one and only.

Under-fire Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly planning a move for Ajax pair Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window.

Hope they both come to us instead. Both are quality.

fucking hell arsenal look shite - and the stupid thing is - they could have been ok if they'd thought about it properly this summer

their defence is woeful - sagna i think is a great right back and gutted he done his leg! big blow for them

Van Persie and Wiltshire i think are very good players too

apart from that they look shite and Aaron Ramsey - i've never seen im play well despite all the hype around him

what arsenal need is to let wenger move upstairs and bring in someone stable, with experience, multi-lingual, get back to basics.....only one candidate that springs to mind....

They're fucked.

Wenger has run his course but I don't know who would come in and take over from him.

I'd be staggered if they finished above us this season. Sixth place for them in my opinion.

Wasn't that basically the form we had under Bodgson?

I think even sixth place would be an achievement for them the way things are looking.

They have some serious shite in their first team right now like Jenkinson.

Mertesacker may get better as he gets used to the game, but for me his big problem seems to be that he is painfully slow at turning, which I can't see improving much with time.

Very fair point mate. I was going to say that they'll struggle to finish sixth but I just can't imagine Arsenal doing that badly. Would be completely against the norm.

Yup, and another chap who started yesterday that I'd never even heard of too. Their keeper could turn out to be decent, Vermaelen is good when fit, Wilshere is good and van Persie is class (but again always injured). Other than that they have a squad full of shite.

mertesacker - deary me - in the second half he kind stuck his leg out like he was dippy his toe in a cold swimming pool....- He was actually trying to tackle a spurs player who went past him like he wasn't there....From now on i'm calling him Dippy Toe

Hodgson's league record at Liverpool was 24 points from 20 games, This current run of Arsenal form is worse than our time under the Bodge
