Not the EU. As a third country its up to each individual country to decide what happens based upon the agreements they have with the UK. Which, and I may be wrong, are in general the sum total of fuck all....

Imagine being in Portugal having a quiet holiday, minding your own business and then all of a sudden, you're stuck in the middle of a load of Chelsea and Citeh fans kicking off about who has more money to buy things...

Red list incoming. Hopefully it'll be imposed before they can come back on Sunday!

Love this .

True facts.

1. In the 1400s a law was set forth in England that a man was allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb.

Hence we have 'the rule of thumb.'

2. Many years ago in Scotland , a new game was invented. It was ruled 'Gentlemen Only...

Ladies Forbidden'... and thus the word GOLF entered into the English language.

3. Each king in a deck of playing cards represents a great king from history:

Spades - King David,

Hearts - Charlemagne,

Clubs -Alexander the Great,

Diamonds - Julius Caesar

4. In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase......... 'goodnight, sleep tight.'

5. It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink.

Mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month, which we know today as the honeymoon.

6. Since 2012, man city fans have said they are going to win the champioms league at the start of every football season, hence the phrase ‘deluded twats’ 😂🔴⚫️⚪️

Was chatting to a guy from Porto the other day and he said that the Chelsea and City fans fucking wrecked the place. He said there were so many videos going around and then they just disappeared from social media.

Manchester City have made a £100million offer for Jack Grealish, as Pep Guardiola moves to complete the most expensive transfer in Premier League history.

Champions City have finally tabled a huge bid for the England international which they hope will persuade Aston Villa to agree a deal, in the biggest move of this summer's transfer window so far.

Grealish has been one of Guardiola's priority signings this summer and, after days of discussions, City have submitted a remarkable offer which will eclipse English football's previous transfer record of £89 million for Paul Pogba.

The 25-year-old is set to return for training with Villa on Monday next week, after taking a break following England's involvement with Euro 2020, but City are hopeful of striking an agreement over the next few days.

Villa have offered Grealish a new contract which will vastly improve his current terms of around £125,000 a week and have based their summer transfer activity on keeping their talismanic captain.

But with City experiencing frustration in their attempts to sign Tottenham's Harry Kane, Grealish has now emerged as their No. 1 target.

Manchester City, Aston Villa and the player’s agent were contacted but declined to comment.

More to follow.

We can't compete with shit like this. He's a talent no doubt but he's not worth that much.

Then it’s okay, they’ll overspend and eventually end up like Barcelona.

There are a few clubs that can't* overspend in world football, City, PSG and Chelsea.

Although the spotlight is still on City for cheating FFP, although nowt will probably come of it like before.

The poor bastards might only be able to break the British transfer record twice this summer.

They really do have no sense of awareness

Spending £100m on Grealish doesn't make him a £100m player (if you know what I mean ). It's a ridiculous amount of money (especially if they also buy Kane for £130m+).

For 100m or more, you really need to not only hit the ground running at your new club, you would also need to be one of the best on the world in your position.

Anything less than that and you are an expensive bit of squad filler for your new team and a bit of a flop in terms of the team's buying strategy.

Was just looking at the list of biggest transfer fees and looked at those that were over €100m

Neymar
Mbappe
Coutinho
Felix
Griezmann
Dembele
Pogba
Bale
Hazard
Ronaldo (Juve move)

The order may change a little depending on what add ons were part of each deal, but all of those cost over 100m euro.

Now I know some had injury issues etc., but I find it interesting how high the % of misses is against that of hits.

Coutinho, Dembele, Griezmann, Pogba, and Hazard certainly were not value for money.

Felix to date has been so so for the money, probably more in the not value for money camp than a success for his price but at 21 and with a ton of talent he might get here.

Bale I think, despite a ton of injuries, has been close to value for money as he has a good goal and assist getting record and has gotten a lot of important goals for Real.

Neymar is another who has missed a ton of games since his move to PSG. Great goals to games ratio but hasmissed more than 50% of PSG's league games in the four seasons he has been there.

Pretty much just leaves Ronaldo and Mbappe who have been goals machines (especially the former) who are also fit to play more often than not.

Just crazy money to be spending isn't it.

For 100m you really want that player either making it impossible to score goals against you or scoring/creating an astronomical amount of goals (Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe, Salah levels). Is freakish going to do that?

I imagine he'll be on the bench a lot at the beginning anyway. Also he likes to take quite a lot of time and touches on the ball before distributing where Pep likes his players to take as few touches as possible before moving it on. It's possible he'll slow them down a fair bit until he gets upto speed. Maybe he'll surprise me but I almost think regardless of how well he does it'll be hard for him to justify the transfer fee in the eyes of many.

Grealish is good for Villa because he is their best player and they are setup to play to his strengths, it will be interesting to see how effective he is in a system that isn't built around him and doesn't necessarily play to his strengths. Still unsure where he will fit into City's side.

Yep, not too sure where he'll fit. He likes to be the fulcrum of the team, getting the ball and making things happen. Can't see this at City, he'll be one of a number of options for them. They've already got Sterling and Silva to an extent, doing the same things, so either Pep is buying him to increase his options, or is not happy with one of his current options.

Also, Grealish isn't really someone who scores a lot. Wins a lot of free kicks and creates for others, so they'll have to reshuffle a bit and maybe that will play against them.

Then you have Kane if he comes. They'll have to change their game a bit to accommodate these players.
