So what about Naby starting tomorrow?

Who'd be in favour?

If Klopp is happy to start him, I'm cool with it. He's had no qualms throwing him in at big games in the past. The Barca game where he picked up the bad injury, the World Club Cup final etc. Although with those he had some games and form behind him. Would personally start him, but would understand logically why he might be left on the bench.

I think Ox should start this one personally with Naby off the bench.

He's been absolutely ripping it up in training apparently. Really hope he starts today. He's going to come good, I can feel it.

Played really well in pockets. Nowhere near his potential though - we were collectively "excited ' when he was signed.

Is it a mental thing? Does Jurgen need to take him away for a long weekend?

Was going to say the same.

He was good. But without an assist or a goal. Needs to turn promising to actual delivering tangible moments of match winning genius. He’s worth persevering with though, because when it clicks with him he could be unplayable.

His match involvement is dreadful if you dig into the stats. He's frustrating because if he was anything like a Gerrard, take the game by the scruff of the neck type, he'd be deadly. But he hasn't been that. And i'm basing this off his all his games for us and not just the blueshite.

I thought he was really good today actually, one of our better players, and was disappointed to see him taken off when he was... but I do agree that he’s nowhere near the player we thought we were getting and that him “coming good” might mean being suitable as a squad player, whereas I initially thought he was gonna be the player we’d build our midfield around..

I don’t think much can be drawn from the first competitive game in three months, think the whole team will need a few games to time to find their rhythm again.

Fair point- one thing we can confirm from the first game back though, is that Lovren is shit...

Yeah, noticed how we went flat after he went off...gotten worse after Matip went off too.
Won't say his name but if we had lost that game with their chance that hit the post, good luck to him on here on another thread!

I think that with Salah out it made sense to start him, as Firmino and Minamino look to come deep and Keita does look to break forward from midfield, I thought that he was playing quite well and was unlucky to go off (not sure if it was a fitness thing), all the changes being made gave the game a feel of a preseason friendly where you have a load of players out on the pitch but they don't really have a cohesive formation.

Keita has underwhelmed but I did think he played well yesterday and anything that resembled a quick, forward pass or burst forward disappeared when he went off.

I find this constant 'when will they win it?' narrative in the media to be boring, disrespectful to our opponents and potentially aimed at undermining LFC's achievements. It doesn't matter when we win it, as long as we do. These 9 games are a mini-season on their own, completely disrupted and bizarre, but necessary. I will draw few conclusions from them, even if some will use them as a stick to beat us with ('anti-climax' etc). Six draws will do me. Get the pot, and plan for next season. But we will suffer without our fans, no doubt. More than they will at the Emptyhad.

100% this - I couldn’t care less about records, no 19 please. I think a huge weight will be lifted and we will be flying at the start of the next season

0% this- 6 draws (assuming one of them isn’t city) would be 15th July, at the earliest...

It’s not unthinkable that the season will be stopped again. All it takes is a mini PL second wave.. lets get the fuckin thing won on the field ASAP and not have to worry about that.

I get your point but my point was just win the title it even if we draw six games to do it.

Ideally win v Palace and not lose vs City

100 days off, the threat of null and void, the prospect of wrapping up the league in 2 games. What happened? There didn't seem much desire to get it done. I thought they might of been pumped up to go full pelt, 100 days of pent up desire but instead it was tepid at best. Strange to me but not for some.

I think expecting full pelt in the 1st game back is a bit unrealistic after 3 months out and what, 2 or 3 weeks of full training.

It’ll take a few games minimum to get any kind of rhythm and match fitness going.

OK maybe not full pelt phyically but you know when there's a big game, a Derby with fans, players get over excited with adrenaline and just put everything out there. If I was a player this close to the title and had been held back for so long, the natural eagerness to get the win would have taken over. Its just the overall meek away performance we've come to expect of late. I get Everton away is normally tough as you're playing the crowd and the intensity, like at old Trafford. But there was no one there and they are 13th and shit. Yet we still just strolled around, disjointed and lacking any apparent hunger. We still controlled most of the gsme but we look like a team pre lockdown and now one game back that is trying not to lose but doesn't know how to win. But it is one game back and that's probably a bigger factor than I've allowed for. I hope I'm just talking shit and we get into a groove again.

Not being on Twitter, did she not think that maybe going to the police would have been a better place to start?

She did. Police said it was a case of her word against his.

Just got to let it play out whatever way it will. Sounds like it has reached a conclusion however whether going public will reopen it, i don't know.

So now she takes to Twitter? Seems a bit wrong that, like the facebook posts I sometimes see ("This man beat up his girlfriend and put her in a coma, share this picture!!" - and then it turns out that no, he didn't, but it's too late now). Even if it was consensual, Naby comes out of this looking bad.

Do footballers ever learn? What's he supposed to do, get written consent every time, or just not have relations at all? The only thing he is definitely guilty of (assuming this is recent) is breaking lockdown rules, the rest is just one person's story against another.
