Pep telling the press that if he didnt win anything at a big club (like bayern or barca) then he would get the sack for sure.
I would expect the piss to be ripped out of him and city fans everywhere as he obviously doesnt consider city to be a "big club"

I really think that outside the PL the definition of 'big club' in this context is one of Bayern, Barca or Real. For a while it looked like the PL elite would join that pool but we have totally regressed in Europe and consequently no longer look capable of that type of self sustaining superiority.

It seems that the tactical evolution in the PL towards greater speed and more breathless games has made it harder to adapt in Europe and put too much pressure on squads. It hasn't helped that in general PL clubs seem bad at both buying individual players (we seem to pay much more than continental teams) and evolving squads over time.

Of course they are a small club. If you win £90m on the Euro lottery your not all of a sudden invited to the party's of the rich and famous. When it comes to city I think of them as Wayne and waynetta slobber when they win the lottery. Fucking tramps with money.

Interesting those teams enjoy pretty much a domestic monopoly / duopoly.

This Jesus kid looks like the saviour for city. Looks nailed on to bang 20+ goals next season.

He's top class alright. Keep spunking £30m on every player and a few will click.

And we spent nothing on Mane, Lallana or Firmino?

Plus they bought Jesus in January and he didn't start playing until end of January then picked up an injury. He's averaging a goal or assist every 62 minutes..

they have spent 300m on strikers alone, You would hope that one worked!! The last time they spent 18million on a striker from Brazil didnt work out that well, remember Jo?

YouI am sure when they bought Jovetic, Robinho, Dzeko, Adebayor, and all the others they tthought they were buying quality too

They have won the league twice in that time. It worked.

Jovetic is class for Sevilla, Dzeko has scored 37 times for Roma in all comps this seasons, Robinho wasn't that bad, Adebayor was decent.

Jo was gash though!

Yep......Big boys will splash the cash again. Probably approaching 400m between the two Manchester sides this summer.

They're going for the CL and league double. One Silva to cover for the other. It's not fair.

We should be grateful for the likes of city bringing in these calibre of players. It raises the quality and entertainment of the whole league. Which brings in more money for us to sit on and monitor.

Lads he's a class player, identical to David Silva not only in name but that money is ridiculous. Suppose it's all relative to the club buying him.... pocket change. Apparently mancs triggered Greizmann's 100m clause.

How the fuck can you compete with that type of spending.

I still think there is value in the market if you buy clever and decisively. Spot the player and go in with the right fee as opposed to fannying about in negotiations before being gazzumped. We just need to get our business done early - if we want VVD and Keita then pay want they want and if the player doesn't want to come move on to choice no 2.

Silva was already a top player at Benfica before he joined Monaco and paid a decent fee for him at the time.

This.

Important to keep in mind that we're also going to be hit for paying extra being a PL and CL side (hopefully).
This is the price for wanting to be a top side.
