Burnley is absolute dog shit this year, if we cant rest against teams like this, we have the wrong squad playes.
No game bigger than the next one. Cliche I know but Burnley away will not be easy. We aren't even playing well. If we were then a few changes would he easier but it's a massive risk when our form (not results) is dodgy. I'd drop Bobby for origi and bring Milner in. Rest I'd keep strong.

Every game is huge in the context of Man City winning every game. But our players are human too and they need a rest.

Pretty sure the rest of our squad aren't competition winners.

Vvd gomez and allison are undroppable.
Also robbo, is there a "decent" alternative, who's this young lad and is he ok???
Any right back option???
Fabinho needs more time so thats easy, shaq and one other, maybe keita.
Up front go studge, origi and mane

Alisson
TAA Lovren VVD Moreno
Henderson Fabinho
Shaqiri
Origi Firmino Salah

Give Gini a rest, bring Gomez on for TAA to allow both players a break, and if we're cruising sub off Bobby and Salah for Danny and Milner, with Shaq going wide.

Just read that. Hardly surprising and good to see Origi rewarded. Hopefully he can take advantage.

I won't be writing Burnley off, but this should be a good time to play them as they don't have the squad for 2 matches in 1 week, as they proved earlier in the season.

Origi for Mane makes sense. That's the position we've got least cover in to be honest.

I'm assuming Shaqiri will start on the right of the front three, with Salah down the middle?

Time for Firmino to be dropped. I think it would benefit him from knowing he has some genuine competition for a starting place.

I think I remember Origi coming in off the left quite a few times when he had that goal scoring streak in 2016?

What’s wrong with Milner at left back? Moreno in defence just makes me shit myself.

I think Moreno has looked ok on the rare occasions he has had VVD alongside to marshal him?

I understand (agree with) the need to make changes for this one. It's common sense.

That said it still worries me though

Interesting.

Big moment for some of these guys, they have a duty to defend the performances that have gone in so far.

We can’t play the same XI all season, but we need the win.

We need the win and some of these players need a rest and we've bought ourselves a squad for that.

I'm happy with the selection. We have been looking a bit tired and flat. Hopefully the players coming in make the most of their opportunities to impress. Moreno is always a worry though!

I'm just glad that Lallana isn't starting.

Recent history tells us when we make so many changes in the cups it doesn't go well. It's a massive risk. It's fucking wet and cold. Burnley will be fucking launching it.

If we score early then fine, this has me massively worried.

Is it a diamond? Sturridge and Derek up front, Shaq in the 10, Naby and Milner in the middle and Henderson anchoring?
