Fury will definitely out box Wilder for however long the fight lasts. He'll confuse Wilder by switch hitting, and use his 3 stone weight advantage in the clinch, lean on him and look to tire Wilder out. My concern is at some point Wilder will probably land clean which could end the fight in a flash.

Fury's additional weight is fat that he's carrying. Not really sure how that assists in a fighting context.

Final predictions anyone?

I desperately want Fury to win this but my head says Wilder win by KO/TKO rounds 6-9.

It's difficult to assess Fury at the moment - his last two to 'comeback' fights were poor but maybe he only performed to the level of his opposition, and maybe he'll raise his game/motivation a lot more for Wilder. He should have improved a lot in the last couple of months now he's got the weight down, the training for his two comeback fights had a big focus on weight loss rather than boxing.

Is his weight loss a factor? Might he struggle in the later rounds if he can't dictate a slow pace with a lot of clinching?

By the way, despite the purist disdain for the fight, if people like me (but less of a ) are interested then it must be good for boxing.

I'm keen on the element of uncertainty. When the big men fight, it's quite exciting when nobody quite knows what will happen. I'd be happy with shit boxing but a big surprise

Weight loss is certainly a factor as is the ketogenic diet he allegedly been on (although i don't believe much that i hear from fighters). Endurance is a cornerstone of boxing unless you're a banger and fury isn't. He's had plenty of prep but isn't exactly ring sharp either.

My prediction is a 4-6 Wilder KO. A part of that comes from the heart mind you.

Sounds like you were right

Tyson is what we call in the gym is old-schooling him. He is taking him to school, and Deontay is beginning to second guess himself. Tyson is looking very comfortable right now in this fight.

Fuck right off with that shit. Fury has shown wilder up as nothing more than a windmill throwing fraud. Same corruption that saw Lewis draw with Hollyfield when he cained him.

Fucking disgusting decision. Something bizarre went on with scorecards before they were announced - miraculously that happens every time there's a dodgy decision.

That first judge (Mexican?) Should be sent to the electric chair!

Paulie Malignaggi calling out the Mexican judge saying he should never work in the sport again. Too bloody right how he called it 115-111 for Wilder I’ll never know

I know Stevenson is old, but that's something special from Gvozdyk to get the KO victory. I thought his style could cause problems but I'm genuinely surprised by that. That could well be the end of Adonis at 41. Maybe him and Kovalev should finally have their farewell clash around 6 years too late seeing they've both lost.

Stevenson got KO'd?

Not enough credit goes to Fury by the haters for his ability to nullify his opponents best asset and shut down their punch output. People expected Wilder to constantly throw punches but as he found out tonight it's not easy to land on Tyson and he'll make you miss. He completely out boxed Wilder even at 70% and if it weren't for him becoming complacent this would have been a shut out.

I hope the rematch is in England but somehow I don't see it happening. Having said that an English ref would have waived the fight off after seeing Fury stationary for a few seconds.
