The Athletic has reported that Raheem Sterling has been enquiring about what it's like to live in West London, amid speculation Chelsea are interest in him. Not sure if it's a bit of a wind up considering he come from West London

He was a professional footballer before he could drive - not sure if he ever had the chance to check out the club scene when he lived there

I'll give it a bash, imo a flop is a signing that gets ample mins, in a system and under a manager he is suited to but things just don't work out. A terrible signing, is a signing that absolutely does not suit the system (Rom up top on his own ) and one in which the manager has no faith in the player in that system. Lukaku played similar mins to Naby which is about 50% ish, after those comments which I thought were tame, he was done at Chelsea.

You'd have thought he mightve gone back to see his Mum once in a while though

Mail Exclusive: Lovely Phil Foden regularly makes time to visit his mum
Mail Exclusive: Lazy Raheem takes more time away from training to go back to London
etc.

Kalvin Phillips to Leeds? Not really the calibre of player I thought I'd see City go for?

Part of their 'mopping-up mediocre teams' best English players' strategy... like Grealish last season. Carabao starting 11 is going to be mightily impressive

Soon to be Nathan Ake of Chelsea with another massive price tag if rumours are correct.

Surely there are better CBs out there than Ake - surprised Chelsea didn't have a run at Botman, for example, unless they want an old head to replace their experience.
Still, don't think Ake is the way to go unless they've got someone else lined up (De Ligt maybe?)
I wonder, in all of this, if they'd be open to a cheeky bid for Pulisic? Klopp was super keen on him a few years ago

Didn't they sell him originally?? What is it with that club and buying back players they've discarded

I think they're a little desperate at the moment, lost both Rudiger and Christiensen out of contract which leaves them with Sarr, Chalobah and a really aging Thiago Silva.
I can see the Chelsea fans getting restless fairly quickly if they're not spending like that did under Abramovich

Would Ake be that though?
I know he is 27, but the only club he was a full time regular at was Bournemouth and his last season as a regular started was the 2019/20 season.
He only had 24 appearances in the league for City (including when he was a sub) over the past two seasons.
Think he is a good player but also think he excels with a dominant CB beside him so that he can be the ball player at the back.

Ake is good but he isn't excellent and not a patch on someone like Rudiger (who is top level)

Losing Rudiger was huge for them, they are not going to get a replacement with that quality. Ake is decent but makes mistakes and hasn't played regular footie since Bournemouth days. Personally I think they'll go for De Ligt. Not hugely convinced about him to be honest.

Gabriel Jesus looks like he is going to Arsenal.
I reckon Jurgen could have made him into a worldie. He works hard, can play across the front line etc......
Doubt city would sell to us but in my opinion he is better than Arsenal ffs.

De Ligt has been very good for Juve the past three seasons.
He made a few mistakes in games, mostly just after the move, that seem to have become a highlight reel of him failing, but he has been rock steady for the most part and their best CB for most of the past three seasons. Think it gets overlooked that he was only 19 when he joined Juve.
Does not turn 23 until next month either. (he shares his birthday with Djibril Cisse, Cara Delavinge, Huntelaar, Tyson Fury and Me. He is very excited by the last name ) So he will continue to improve for a long time yet as he gains more experience.
Kind of have to remember that he still a young player and very very young for a CB.
I actually think that in a couple years time that he and Konate will be seen as the dream pairing when people make wishlists of what players they would love to see in the same team.
Kounde would be another that might make the list with someone like Konate beside him.

Spurs are making some...interesting signings. Am I underrating Richarlison? I haven't been particularly impressed by him in recent seasons. He doesn't seem to have a standout attribute really, he's not scoring or assisting that much, his passing doesn't seem to be the best and his mentality also seems to have been a problem.

I think Richarlison will be a utility player for them - cover for Kane, Son and even at wing back

I wouldn't deal with Barca, unless you get the cash upfront or are able to sell on to a 3rd party and get the cash in.
I just don't believe Leeds will see most of this cash.

i read that they still owe £19m from the COutinho deal, Anither great move from the club to sell that debt to a 3rd party.
