I seen a tweet about only allowing people to win 1 ballon d'or and what the potential winners would have been without Messi/Ronaldo, much more interesting than the same old shite.

I love the way he just starts laughing as the ballon d'or has turned into a glorified popularity contest. Might as well laugh as it's a joke to have him 7th and everyone knows it.

I hope there are more references in the media. Each occurrence is an embarrassment, whether they care or not. A shit version of the Eurovision song contest that people watch but don't give a crap about who won.

Also amazing that they had the foresight to film him as a young lad - just on the off chance he made it!

That was a 9th League assist for Mo this season.

He always contributes.

There was some interview over the weekend where he mentioned that Liverpool FC had an issue with summat in the contract & he was still waiting for them to sort out as ready to sign it.

The contract will get sorted...otherwise there will be a fan mutiny FSG know ...more likely just the fine details need tweaking to both sides agreement.

yip.....i am not suggesting that he will be sold in Jan....just that if it gets beyond the next transfer window and he hasn't signed a contract, then it gets trickier. Essentially he could be working his notice then because I can't see LFC doing a "Gini" and letting Mo go into the final season without a deal being signed.

I think it needs to be done this side of xmas myself

Should have been done in the summer.

FSG have form for letting the best players walk from the Red Sox when they're due for a contract renewal. Mookie Betts being the most recent example

And if you take the first 2 letters of “Mookie Betts”, you get….. Mo!! Coincidence???

Ideally, of course. I’m sure FSG would agree, but it’s not necessarily that simple. We don’t know what the hold up is, but if it’s a £10m release clause then that would be problematic. If it’s money and it’s more than we can afford, then that’s problematic. We just have no idea so there’s no point guessing at the moment.

He’s the best player in the world, and if it turns out that without oil money or hand chopping sovereign wealth funds we can’t afford to employ the best player in the word, then so be it. If, when the details eventually emerge, they tell a different story that doesn’t reflect well on FSG then they’ll deserve criticism.

The way Klopp spoke about it, it kinda sounded like most of the details had been worked out and they were just ironing out the kinks.

At least, that is what I choose to believe.

Problem is he is probably the best in the world, and we probably cant afford ro make him the best paid player. Been stung before by Macca and Owen. Difference is we are best in the world, or there abouts.

If he stays it will be for the love not the money. Although I expect the only club who could afford him at the moment is PSG, Although Real always seem to find it from somewhere. Mpappe to RM, Salah to PSG but then I am sure Gini could warn him off!!

And this is probably part of the equation, only PSG can afford him but will he want to join a club like that AND play second fiddle to a fading Messi. He deserves better than that, and I think that is hero worship and legend status at Liverpool.

I am pretty confident that we will get somewhere near to what he wants Got to be a compromise there I think. Its his last big pay day, But I would be absolutely shocked if the contract wasnt signed.

he is completely right to demand to be one of the top paid in the league, but I think he knows that Liverpool can’t afford stupid money like psg, city, united etc could pay him…

But as you say, I think he will be happy to compromise, given everything else that we bring to the table. He’s obviously very happy here, and as a player who only reached world class status in his late twenties, he won’t take it for granted, what LFC has done for his career. The way he looks after himself I see mo having another 4/5 seasons at the top, and if he does that at LFC, he has the potential to be our best ever player.

I think Salahs mindset is that he wants to stay at LFC, but may as well squeeze as much as possible out of it, which is totally fair.
