A draw at Stamford Bridge would be ok, but at Anfield we have to be looking to beat them.

will be a good game.

I expect Robbo to come back for Tsimikas

Henderson, Fabinho and either Keita / Thiago in midfield

I think Jota might keep his place too. Would be tough to score in both games - the opening goal in both games too no less - and miss out then.

Would be incredible if Jurgen sprung a surprise and started Elliot.

100%.

Depending on how the match goes, a draw might not be the end of the world, but we definitely have to be going into it expecting to win.

Chelsea haven't finished above us since they last won the league 5 years ago and as much as they have improved recently, they still have a lot to prove before they can be considered better than us.

That would be a massive gamble. I hope he doesn't.

yip would be alright...... to be honest I was surprised when Elliot got off the bench v Norwich (over say, Minamino) and was shocked to see him in starting line up v Burnley (but I didn't know that Milner and Ox were unavailable at the time).

Will probably be Keita.

Virg and Matip need to do a proper job on Lukaku. Midfield need to press and high up not allowing them time on the ball.

Our pace up top will cause their defence headaches for sure... a bit of clinical finishing, the crowd behind us and we could set down a marker for the rest of the nay-sayers and pundits...

Fab needs to be right up Jog-inho's arse the entire match. Starve that prancing twat of time and space and he's a passenger.

That'll be a job for the other midfielders. And we may get Firmino in to press him.

Yeah, I think Jota misses out and Firmino comes in for that reason.

Also think Robbo starts. The only selection issue imo is who goes with Fab and Hendo - Naby or Thiago. I think it'll be Naby.

So:

Alisson

Trent
Matip
VVD
Robbo

Fab
Hendo
Naby

Salah
Firmino
Mane

I'd still love to see the Thiago version of that team, with Bobby dropping deep that team could absolutely purr. But I agree I think Naby might get the nod.

I'd pick Naby too. We definitely need the experience of Robertson at the back and the guile of Dirmino.

When has Naby had a good game against a top side for us. I'm struggling to think of one.

I'm sure he was very good away at Chelsea early last season when we won.

Leicester 4-0 after WCC was a big match IIRC.

We were excellent against Chelsea and Arsenal start of last year when he played too.

Two big changes by Klopp and a huge show of confidence in the two players from the manager.

Elliot and Firminho both starting is interesting. Wonder does that mean Bobby will drop deep a lot and let Elliot have almost a free role to get forward.

Chelsea selection is less of a surprise. Tuchel going with three CBs and using the full backs/wingbacks for width.

Good mix of movement and physicality in that Chelsea team. Will be a proper test for us today. Will tell a lot about this Chelsea team under Tuchel as well.

Why. Lads a superstar in the making. Keita ain't done enough to warrant cleaning his boots.

Surprised Jota misses out having scored the opening goal in the first 2 games

I'm slightly surprised he went with Elliot for Keita, but I'm a big fan of Elliot since seeing his performances this pre-season. It's great for competition and shows the wealth of talent to chose from in midfield. We've still got Thiago on the bench and Curtis Jones isn't even on it.

I think today we need to control the play, so Bobby should help with this a bit better. Great to have Jota to come in though.

Easy. He's just turned 18 playing in his second game at Anfield against a world class midfield. But I'll be made up if he has a solid game.

I wouldn't have had Keita starting this game either.

Naby’s just getting a rest before Guinea inevitably play him in every minute of the international break, whether he’s fit or not.
