AC Milan (h)

Changes?

I think we need to protect Matip at all costs, and so would bring in Konate for his long-awaited debut. Him alongside Big Virg should have more than enough muscle to deal with that tedious cunt 'Zlatan'.

Something like:

Alisson

Trent
Konate
VVD
Tsimikas

Fabinho
Thiago
Henderson

Salah
Jota
Mane

Yeah interesting one, both Konate and Gomez are surely desperate for a game.

The selection could be a real sign that JK is starting to trust the squad.

Are we just picking Konate because he's new?

I think Gomez probably deserves a game ahead of him, although I would be tempted to start both Gomez and Konate to be honest. They're both great players.

Would be very unkopplike to start both, but there is a strong case for resting both. Virgil played internationals as well. Gomez and Konate must be chomping at the bit.

We played Rhys and Nat at CB's last season - so I think we can handle seeing Joe and Ibrahima for a game.

Think it might be Gomez who comes in, if he is fit enough. Introduce Konate in the league and FA cup games, or as a substitute in the PL if we are cruising?

Think we will see Robbo still, if we do change the central pairing...don't want too many changes at the back.

Yeah I’d be resting both Virg & Joel for this plus Andy too tbh. Millie might be in with a shout in midfield too.

Well he's not coming back from a serious injury and my own expert medical opinion is that Gomez should be eased back in - Norwich in the Fizzy Drink Cup or something.

I would be surprised if we make many changes at the back I suspect one (giving Matip a rest) or two at most (giving Robbo a rest and Tsimikas a game). I think that there may be a couple of changes in midfield obviously one is necessary because of Elliott's injury, it will be interesting to see if Klopp goes with another attacking option such as Ox or a more solid option. I assume Henderson will start but think one of Thiago or Fabinho might be given a rest.

I think we’ll see Konate and Kostas. Kostas needs to be kept involved after the start he’s made and Robbo has just started 5 games in 2 weeks. We’d be mad to continue to flog him when it looks like we now have a strong alternative.

Need to keep Naby ticking over after his good start too. Reckon he could come in too, unless we’re keeping him for Palace at the weekend.

We need to reward good performances and keep players interested. It also keeps Robbo fresh and on his toes with proper competition

I’d like Naby to start also

Would start Konate beside VVD for the very reason Shaggy mentioned.

Konate is a big strong, quick CB who loves a battle and Ibrahimovic is a big strong dirty niggly prick who likes to try and leave one on a player.

Want to see Konate stand on the prick and then Lucas Levia to pop out of the crowd with a big "Unluckeeee" after his own spat with Ibrahimovic at the weekend.

Tsimikas I would give a run out. He did well at the start of the season, so when we can we should play him to help keep him match it and to avoid the sort of burn out Robertson had last season from being over played.

Fab and Thiago I would start in the middle. One from Keita orMilner with them if Henderson is going to start the game after AC Milan.

Uusal three up front in Slah, Jota and Mane.

It's a shame we don't have back up for Trent, as he can't play 60 games at RB. And Neco, though full of potential has plenty of bomb scare elements to his play.

Would sooner play one from Milner, Henderson, Gomez, or even Chamberlain at RB before Neco against a decent team.

I think Gomez will come in ahead of Konate as he is used to the system. I think Konate will make his debut in the league cup

Am also looking forward to seeing Tonali playing for them.

Was hoping for the past few seasons we would get him, so will enjoy seeing if he can play well, but not too well, against the sort of quality midfielders we can put out.

This is a real Champions league group - the 2nd and 3rd most successful clubs and another former winner. Factor AM into that as Spanish champions + all the players they bought and every game will be “big”. We need a win tomorrow - Milan ha e started the season well but they are not at our level.

They have some excellent players though:

- Maignan in goal
- Theo H at LB is a worldie
- Tonali and Kessie in midfield
- Promising youngsters Zlat and Giroud up front

We need to ratchet yep the tempo and they won’t handle it........last time we played them was the final in 2007. You should’ve started Crouch Rafa!!!!

Only Matip will be rested for this one with Hendo coming in for Elliott. Not sure who gets the nod in defence Konate or Gomez.

It's a bloody tough group and a must win game. We need the 3 points with Porto away next followed by Atletico Madrid double header. Packed Anfield under the lights for a CL game and it'll be rocking. Start fast, put the game to bed and then managed the game.

With Palace at home on Saturday, we go full strength again and then give the starters a weeks rest and play the back ups v Norwich in EFL cup

No fucking about with resting players yet. They should all be fresh after a long preseason and a few games in the legs and just coming off an International break where lots didn't play.

Hendo or Keita in for Elliott and maybe Tsimikas for Robbo, as he's coming off that ankle injury and a few games for Scotchland and Tsimi was playing very well during Robbo's layoff.

Matip is the quandry. You don't want to rest him, but with his injury history maybe its best to just have him playing 1 game a week. So Gomez or Donate can fill in.

Other than that strongest side possible for this. You can rest players once we've safely qualified. We have a tough group, there's no easy games at all.

Based off the press conference he's just done I think he will go almost full strength for this.

My guess:

Alisson

Trent
Gomez
VVD
Robertson

Fabinho
Thiago
Henderson

Salah
Jota
Mane

I'd play Tsimikas and Konate personally, but I doubt Klopp will risk it. He wants 3 points.

Yup qualify first and then dick around with the selection. I'd be tempted by Tsimikas to be fair.

Going weak against Milan would be a mistake as they have some really good players, even with the ego being out, and they have good players in the middle that can play or harry depending on the need.

From a Milan pov this game is probably a free hit as they would be expected to lose (Same for Porto when they come to Anfield) and as such can give it a right go if they want to.
