As De Bruyne stepped up to take the pen I'd certainly have settled for the draw.

Shit 2nd half though

Good point, we were shite in 2nd half looked out on our feet. City bang average whole game. They were their for the taking in the first half but we over complicated things and eventually ran out of steam.

See-saw game. Should have established a more comfortable lead but did well to hang in at the end of the game. Better than a defeat.

Draw away against city, can’t be too disappointed.

City shouldn’t even have been in that. More clinical finishing we’d have walked those three points. No cutting edge today. Disappointing as City were pretty shite in all fairness.

Good and not so good in that one, but overall pretty satisfactory. Should have taken more advantage of our early chances Would have taken 1-1 before so no complaints.

Is it just me or do we genuinely look a much better outfit than them? I thought we would lose this game before kickoff (due to injuries etc) but city never deserved more than a draw out of that. In fact, we probably should have been up by a couple at half time.

8 games in and we've beaten Arsenal at home and Chelsea away, along with a draw at City and a stolen win at Everton. Might not have played well but thats a damn good start.

I’ll take a 1-1.
Strong first half, thought we looked tired second.

Would take a draw before the game. Thought we got into good positions first half but we always choose the wrong pass. I think being able to bring jota on when they were tired could have worked in our favour.
All city second half but we stood strong.

Great game. Scrappy second half but was to be expected compared to the brilliant first half. It was like watching two heavy weight boxers trying to lay punches to each other but wary of that fatal blow.
Defensively we were sound and that formation might be the way forward for us in some of these tighter games.

No VVD. Trent off injured. Fab injured. Thiago injured.
We've not taken a point away at City for a long time, I'm more than happy with that.
Draw feels about right, we could have been ahead at HT, but, we also could have been behind.
I hope some of our players have 'minor' injuries for the international break

1 more more point that we usually get away to City. Without Virgil, Fabinho, Thiago and Trent going off after an hour. Take that all day.

Getting thiago fit will be key. Not trying to shoehorn 4 into 3.

I don’t think the experiment with Jota and Bobby worked. Would have liked to see Jota come on in the second half and inflict his usual damage.

Disagree. They had a pen, Alisson made a great save in the first half plus the Jesus header. We had good chances but they weren't that clear cut for me. We'd have lost this on a different day and this is a good result.

We've only had 1.5 games of him yet, and he looked an absolute magician.
Really excited to see him play after the internationals.

There is way too much chat about being top of the League so far. Harry Kane saying Spurs are up for winning it etc. As we know it's a long old battle. I'd be keeping quiet after 8 games.
Other than Villa away which now feels like some kind of bad dream, we have had an excellent start to the season.

Still think Jesus' turn for the goal was a bit of a fluke rather then than the world class Neville claimed but he finished it well once he got clear.

A point isn't a bad result given we were sloppy in the final third, started to look leggy and lost Trent.
I expected much more from them. They seemed flatter than in previous seasons. Still had possession but didn't look too dangerous to be honest.
Just hope its a minor injury for Trent but anything like that is usually a few weeks at best.

Just have to agree to disagree. We fluffed far too many chances in the first half by delaying and trying to walk it in... didn’t even get to a shot in some cases. We were far the better team in the first half and failed to make it pay. Let them back into it and they didn’t look back...

Feels like we have bottled a good chance.
Their defence wasn't super solid and yet we were very sloppy when we got near their goal.
Cancelo was their best player.

No chance the Jesus goal is anywhere near that Bergkamp goal. That is one of the best goals ever.

On the Gomez pen, I'd be furious if that was against us and not given; it looked a clear-cut pen to me.
