David Moores
Given the widely reported assurances provided by H & G that no debt would be put on the club as a result of the takeover i wonder if Parry and Moores have this in writing and if not why not.
If it was part of the understanding behind the take over then it would be reasonable to assume that Parry and Moores sought confirmation of this fact.
If not one would have to question if such assurances ever existed.
It could be that all allong Parry and Moores were aware of this fact and were complicit in the deception.
I dont accept that either man would be stupid enough to overlook getting written confirmation of this assurance at the time of take over.
If this is the case then it would paint a differant picture of David Moores and the motives for selling to H&G. Was it simply a case of more cash in the pocket ?
If he was misled in the same manner as the rest of us then why not take some action speak up seek legal advice anything to distance themselves from H&G.
I only hope that the reason for a lack of action is that behind the scenes Moores knows that H&G are selling up and going. If not then i will have to revise my opinion of the man.
As for Parry never much liked him

Did they ever say there would be no debton the club?
They did state they hadnt bought club (shares and existing debt) with 'borrowed money' but did they ever state that they would never refinance?

It would have to have been in the contract when they bought the place, however, I doubt that is the case. G&H wouldn't be doing it if it was.
There may have been a verbal agreement but that doesn't mean shit in court. In short I don't believe there is anything P or M can do anything about it.

Sky Sports have just ran an interview with some Business Professor who kept claiming 'as I understand it' DIC thought the origional deal was done and dusted because they shook hands, they withdrew because Parry and Moores renaiged on that deal and accepted G&H. DIC didn't submit a counter bid because their pride and honour was bruised because of how Liverpool conducted themselves.
Basically we got screwed by Parry and Moores so they could make themselves some more cash.
I'd fucking love for 1 of them to come out and explain why G&H were chosen and to clarify what will happen in the near future. We must have the only Chief Exec who is unavailable for comment 24 hours a day.

RIP David Moores. He took over at the start of our decline and his tenure was pretty turbulent at times - but he we won a European Cup while he was chairman, and not many chairmen can say that. Thanks for your service.

His heart was in the right place but he was wasnt good enough to be running such a big empire especially with all the change in football during the 90's onwards.
I'm sure selling to H+G caused him more pain than you could imagine, just normal bloke who inherited a load of cash and wanted the club to do well. Hopefully he found some peace in how the club is looking up again in recent years. It could have been a lot different..
Him staying away for 10 years post sale is pretty sad, think he has only been to a handful of games since.

That's really sad he's felt he had to stay away.

R. I. P. Thoughts with the family, he always did what he thought was best for the club.

RIP. Time stands still for no man. It’s such a shame he didn’t frequent Anfield more after leaving his post but no doubt he’s enjoyed the rise back onto our perch.
