you have to say there is a lot to be said for a settled side - Chelsea and Man City could suffer from egos this season if some players don't get enough game time.
That being said if teams are winning and at the top of the table it seems there is less complaining.

Fucking hell, this again
They will pick 4 or 5 for their PL squad of 25. And guess what, all 4 or 5 of their's will be good quality players, whereas we get to turn to N'Gog
The likes of Bellamy, Santa Cruz etc wont even be in their 25 man squad - how will they 'struggle' exactly because of that?
Will we struggle because we cant field 8 midfielders?

You would swap our squad for theirs? Seriously?

There is indeed, but history tells us that clubs with good depth, who can rotate and change their team without weakening it much, tend to do better than those who have to turn to sub-standard replacements.
I know which option i'd prefer.

You didn't say in your original statement that you wished we had their strength in-depth. You said you would rather their squad than ours. I find that a bizarre thing to say. You'ld be happy to wave off SG, Suarez, Carra etc to be replaced with a band of fucking mercenaries. We're oviously following LFC for very different reasons mate.

Dont give me that bollocks mate, i dont need your approval as to why i 'follow' LFC.
I'd rather have their kind of squad depth than ours. If you like it or if you dont like it, makes absolutely zero difference to my viewpoint.

That's not what you said originally. Serious question. Would you swap, lock, stock and barrel the entire City squad and financial backing/position for our own? Yes or no.

Re: the City front line, they can't even register half of those players! You can only register a 25 man squad like last season, check the rules online, we had 23 (or 24, not 25) players registered. If they put all those in, everywhere else will suffer!
Not going to explain the squad rule - too much typing!

I'd swap squads with city no question. I wouldn't support City as a club, which Wavy seems to be trying to twist the argument to, but they have a better group of players overall.
They didn't have too many problems keeping clean sheets either, not sure where this weak defence comes in, they have some boss midfield enforcers too.

The argument Craig was making - ie they have a much stronger squad than us- is entirely valid.

It is, I agree, but wavydavy was obviously taking the emotional attachment into account...i.e. would you literally swap theirs for ours, right now, what with the attachment we have to players like Gerrard, Carra, Pepe, Kuyt, Suarez etc.
They have a better squad, and I'd swap it if all that stuff I just mentioned meant nothing. But it does mean something so with that in mind, I couldn't swap ours.

Aye, he was but that wasn't really what Craig was on about though was it? Kinda distracted from the discussion rather than adding to it.

Manchester City are facing an uprising from defenders Vincent Kompany and Micah Richards as well as midfielder Nigel De Jong who believe they are underpaid after details leaked of Sergio Aguero's £200,000-a-week contract.

And this is another reason why they're not going to come close to winning the league.

They could just as easily finish 5th as win it. They only finished 3rd last year because Arsenal choked their way to failure. I dont think there are many that disagree we would have been a serious threat to top 4 without the Bodge and our off field distractions.
I think city dropping out of top 4 is more likely than finishing top 2
A good squad does nor make a good team

They finished on the same points as the Chavs. It would be foolish to dismiss them. Scum won the league cos everyone else was substandard, but it still counts sadly. (Not that I'm saying Citeh will win the league).

I'm very surprised some think City will struggle to make the top 4. I suppose it's possible but it seems very unlikely to me. It's not like they've got a shortage of experienced players to deal with Champions League commitments unlike Spurs last year.

Wishful thinking or denial, it will be between us and Arsenal to finish 4th.

At the end of the day, City finished 3rd because they amassed the amount of points needed to finish 3rd. All this 'because Arsenal choked' stuff is irrelevant, everything that happens in a season, is all within context of that season and teams finish where they do, basically on merit.

Manchester City and England midfielder Gareth Barry has handed the keys to his luxury Spanish villa to a charity that cares for ill and deprived children, so they can use it whenever he is not in residence.

So looks like they'll get Nasri as well now.
The one type of player they're missing to complete their attack is someone like Adebayor. Oh wait a minute...

I still think there midfield is relatively weak with a few injuries, that forward line is a complete pisstake, I think he could have spent 200million better though
going to be a a few pissed off at not making the 25 or some good loan deals for some of the lower clubs this year from city

I just don't see any of them (Tevez to me is the only one they got but he'll be probably off) as leaders but I guess Kompany does get close to be considered one.

Man City are starting to piss me off. Can't they fuck off and be happy with what they got. They seem to be chasing every player, including our new target, Coates. When they just signed that Savic player who has potential.
