Rossiter sidles up to Jones pre-kick off but is rebuffed. He'll cut the water off...

United starting with 3-5-2, as David Lynch has demanded

First attack from United, Janco on the right crossed to the centre and a shot straight up like a bottle rocket. Perrera looks tidy down the right for United.

A filthy fucking challenge by Rothwell on Ojo. That would be a red in the premiership. It's started...

Corner to United, it's a flop. Perrera can put a cross in though.

Ok, early on it's obvious our formation needs to change. The link between the back and the front is broken, Peterson triple-teamed there and he's no mug. Our forwards drifting back to retrieve the ball.

Our first good attack, Peterson charges down the left line and cuts in and then back inside the box. The final cross was off balance but he went through them like a dose of salts.

Dunno. I'd read they'd play the 3-5-2 at youth level so passed it off as my own analysis. Guilty as charged.
Interestingly against Sunderland our main outlet was Peterson - he's being closely watched here so they're nullifying a lot of our outlet. Now we've attacked down the left and got a bit of joy - corner.

Ball comes out from corner and the ball gets pinged to Peterson on the right who has a decent shot on goal. We're switching play about which is helping.

Oh sweet Jesus, a superb delivery from the right and Thorpes sidefoots it wide. We should be down one there. Our concentration has gone a bit here.

We are gradually getting to grips with this and getting into the game.
A fine attack is thwarted, Hansen pincer-feetesque by the Utd skipper Thorpe.
and it's half time

Well, we were second best. No way around it. But we started to come to grips with it as we went on and had a few chances. I'm feeling more confident about the second half.
Have to go now - off to a mini-wake for my good friend Martin Mort to whom I dedicate this commentary. A fine man who had so many qualities: fearless prosecutor of terrorists, lover of cheap bitter, afficianado of ill-fitting 80s suits, world-record phobic of horses and an all round lovely man, who passed away at the early age of 48 but in his sleep and instantly.

I called him as a great commentator years ago and said Sky will snap him up.

First half mostly passed me by as I'd just awoken from a drunken stupor, but second half was very encouraging. Few kids looking comfortable at this level in Wilson, Ojo, Canos and Branagan and McLaughlin looking back to his debut season form going on our first two matches..
1-1.

Rossiter was winning tackles everywhere and he very rarely loses the ball, very neat player. Him, McLaughlin and Ojo stood out most for me

"Kristoffer Peterson, 19, impressed during the pre season with Liverpool and got to go with the team to America where he got playing time against Milan and Man United, making other clubs interested.
Now he is on his way to Utrecht. According to sources to fotbollskanalen.se the clubs have agreed the transfer and the Dutch club is now discussing personal terms with the player.
Peterson was brought to the club's academy from Sävedalen in 2011 and has since impressed in both the U18's and reserve squad before making his first team debut against Shamrock Rovers in May 2014."

I don't think he will be good enough for us eventually, but it would still be nice if there was some sort of a buy-back deal in place...

I'd be horrified if this wasn't a loan deal. I think he's come on massively and is worth a chance here.

Agree on the buy-back if true though.
