How the FUCK did we not score there? We had about 20 chances.

Both teams are really suspect at the back.

Carvalho should have passed it to Chambers there instead of Elliott. Didn't get his head up when he should have. Possibly Chambers should have been more gobby?

Fatty Shaw looking a bit ginger after blocking a Mabaya cross. Corner to us but Gomez heads it wide.

United should have scored after Philips air kicks one. Mabaya blocks it before Alisson has to.

Considering how strong United have gone... we look ok here. Some decent performances, some... a little rusty. Let's just leave it at that...

Definitely. The new players have looked good so far. I know there are a few iffy moments out there but that's what pre-season is there for. I'm enjoying it.

Does anyone have LFCtv?

Took me a while to log in, so I checked to see if I was still subscribed. I got an email in April saying there would be a delay taking the direct debit, and I cannot see anything going through the past 3-4 months.

I managed to log in though... so my account is still active.

Ten Hag will be thinking "...this Liverpool side aren't all that, we can win the League!..." forgetting there's no Salah, Nunez, VanDijk, Hendo, Fabinho, Konate, Matip, Trent, Robbo...

Exactly! He'll probably have his expectations confirmed about Rashford too...

More dallying at the back and we have the ultimate ignominy of having Fred lob Alisson. 2-0 to United.

Utd are Playing pretty well now to be fair. Still toothless but that’s a personnel issue.

We’ve gone a bit scrappy and are making lots of mistakes, particularly the back four but that’s to be expected.

Preseason games against rivals are weird.

Jurgen taking decisive action to going 2 down there by swapping out the entire team. Good to see.

3-0 to united now after Martial nicks the ball off Rees-Williams and walks through through the rest of them to score.

Backfires spectacularly and we're 3-0 down.

Some comedy defending today already.

Change the XI again IMO.

Ten Hag definitely taking no chances with this one . No way is he going to let the press slam him from the off.

This games are all about getting fitness and styles of play I know, but I do wonder how the kids feel is when their first experience of top team football is getting snotted by their most hated rivals.

Maybe we shouldn’t have signed up for a tournament like this starting July 12th if we’re going to use it just to give everyone a runout. Obviously it doesn’t really matter, but may not be ideal for the players or local fans.

This is a pre-season and all that but Utd have shown more fucks given in this match than they did for pretty much the entire last season. Maybe Ten Hag has read them the riot act?

They’ve faded somewhat and we’re back in control. Will be interesting to see how they handle changes or if they’ll flog their first team chasing a win.

The riot act in pre-season? It'll be a long season for them then

They have pressed well I think and forced a few mistakes from our ramshackle defence.

I saw us lose 3-0 to Napoli in pre season in 2019-20. We were shite, all match. We went on to win the League. Pre season is all about fitness.

Exactly! You can see his thinking though - tell them that he'll be getting rid of half of them if they look like they don't give a fuck and see what they're made of. Plus he can't fuck up his first game against us.

I am watching at work

It's pre season so it doesn't matter a shit if they win 6 or 7 nil - our lads could be training this morning who knows. It amazes me how we managed to get 4th with Nat & Rhys - the two of them are the polar opposite style of CB we have, especially on the ball where they both look so uncomfortable

United going full strength and the McT smashing guys like it's a world cup final we play them at OT week 3 and I still think we will thump them. Was impressed by the cameos of Elliot and Carvalho

Their goals were all as a result of bad mistakes by our defense and we didn't capitalize on the good chances we made early on. As I said this doesn't matter a shit - look at our pre season the year we won the league......... we lost most games and there was doom and gloom amongst our fans

Agree Nev.

Remember though, we actually finished third that season with Phillips and Williams at CB

We are playing this like it is, an exercise in getting players fit. United in the first half have played their strongest 11, and yet we should still have scored at least 2.

All three of their goals have come from defensive errors, from players who will be no where near the first team come the start of the season (Mabaya/Philips x2 and the Williams).

As a match, it's been fun to watch, even if half the time I am going 'who??' when we get the ball.

They all looked very nervous to be honest. It was literally 30 minutes of the first pre-season game though.
