Are they buying Martinez or Mata ?
Not a chance they will splash big on proven players.

My guess it will be Hazard.

IF Wenger don't buy a couple of very good central midfielders then all it takes is a bad injury to Wilshere and they aren't even a top half club.
I think they will sign up McCarthy. Would be an excellent signing for them.

They will always be a top half club!! Despite having a poor squad that wont win the league they will still play amazing football and be great at times!! they just wont have the consistency or experience to do it against the big teams!

We are defiantly now stronger than Arsenal after they lose these two. 4th looks alot easier now. But it all depends on who Wenger signs.

If Ramsey can get back to his pre-injury level then he and Song are as good as almost all the CM pairings in the PL I would suggest.

I'd forgotten about Ramsey. Him and Wilshire could be a very good central midfield pairing for years. Let's just hope their inexperience at the moment will let us finish above them

I think Song is really important to them, the only real defensive midfielder they have and if he gets injured then they have no protection over a fairly weak central defence

You can say the same for us, if Lucas gets injured our backup is Spearing.
Wenger has a lot of trust in his youngsters and rightly so. They were title challengers last season. They'll miss Nasri, but if Mata replaces him that's not too bad.
Do think a quality centre back and a proven goalkeeper would improve them even more.

I think Spearing offers more cover than any of the current Arsenal players can do defensively
Granted it is unlikely to be an issue in most games but when they play against the other top 4/6 teams if Song doesn't play none of the others left can really offer defensive cover.
Currently they have the following CM's and out of that lot most are offensive thinking or unproven youngsters.
Frimpong
Song
Coquelin
Denilson
Fabregas - Leaving
Rosicky
Ramsey
Lansbury
Diaby
Wilshere

Denilson is on loan to Brazil. Which seemed an odd decision at the time and more so now. I think Diaby would have to cover for Song in the middle as a DM given their current squad.
I'm not sure it has to be a disaster - just makes it even more important they get in a proper experienced CB in my view.

Has Wenger completely cracked? He's starting to sound like Houllier in his interviews
One minute he's not denying that Nasri is talking to Man City and he's saying the departure of Fabregas is imminent and now he's coming out with this-
"I expect nobody to leave. There is no news. If there is news, I promise I will give it," he said.
When asked if he therefore expected the pair to stay, Wenger replied that that was "a good conclusion from my statement".
"Cesc is not on strike. Cesc is not injured, he's not match fit. I don't want to go any deeper than that," he added.
"Nasri went for the national team, he was sick, and he has not completely recovered yet. There are no other aspects why he is not in the squad."

Done. Cesc will travel to Madrid with the side. Good luck to him. For Arsenal a new era starts

Balague has called pretty much every development in the Fabregas saga. The stick he gets is totally disproportionate.

He gets stick because he says things people don't want to hear. I remember him calling the Torres transfer and he got massive amounts of abuse.

The problem, I think, is that he talks with the same certainty whether speculating or in the know. I don't doubt he has a lot of good contacts but he has clearly exaggerated his knowledge in the past and it makes him look a tit at times.

And I am 100% sure it would not be alright on this site to call him a pedo either.

I really would. It's not at all pleasant and if you can't distinguish between that and other forms of name calling then I really can't help you.

Nah, i still would TBH.
I hate MUFC with a passion, but i never have and never will join in with Munich chanting, for example.
Reference to people's deaths, paedophilia etc, and other things like this have nothing to do with football IMO, no matter how heated a rivalry or even hatred between teams/fans is.

Well I never, I didn't realise Wenger was a member of est. Sorry for saying those words, they're not real, I don't really think you're a pedophile.
It was only, well what the kids are calling it these days... banter.
