Boks produce brilliant try from nowhere! First possession in ages and even that was after a missed touch...

Typically Ireland and Scotland play the top 2 in the ABs and Boks pool - 1/4 final loss incoming for us again

Yeah. We had our once in a generation chance in 2015 and got fucked by the ref (not that I am still bitter).
I hold very little hopes of anything more than a 1/4 final exit this year.

Was at a seminar all day. Just got home and watched the replay now, somehow magically avoided the result. Fair enough I suppose on the balance, but between Pollard's missed kick and Whitelock's knock-on before the AB's final pen among other moments; I feel a bit hard done by. Great result though. Have an excellent chance of winning the Rugby Championship.
Argentina won't be easy though.

Aussies gave NZ a bit of a thumping in the Bledisloe cup this morning. NZ played the entire 2nd half with 14 men

Which apparently means Wales are now the #1 ranked team in the world.
In other news Christian Wade scored a 65 metre touch down for the Buffalo Bills, albeit in a friendly and there's no guarantee he'll get drafted.

BBC saying Wales need to beat England today to take number 1 spot. Not going well for them
Edit. Re read. That will put them top when Rankings released Monday, provisionally top between results.
24-7 England so looking like NZ will be top tomorrow morning

So was I at the time. I just meant your 'other news' was two posts up. I think it lost a little in translation.

Buzzo's?
Ah, I'm abroad at the moment and although I can see he's posted, the content of the post doesn't show. I'm guessing it's a link or a tweet? It's happening in quite a few threads.

Rugby Championship champions, maybe the Boks aren't as bad as we all thought? Would be much more satisfying any other year, but the momentum and confidence going into the WC can only be a good thing. Was at a bachelor's party which was sex, drugs and rock n' roll. So missed/don't remember the game. Had to watch the highlights yesterday, but promising. Looks like we're resigned to de Allende in midfield. Doesn't seem to be an option, but Pollard at 12 would also interest me, for his playmaking capacity.

Indeed. Not sure why someone would throw away a rugby career to run around mindlessly in a suit of armour, but each to their own.

Some weird stuff has gone on in recent weeks. At no point could I see England winning the WC and the selections have made that slim possibility even more remote IMO.
How Cipriani isn't worth a place in the squad is beyond bonkers.

Given that EJ has been buildng for 4 years, there appear to be a lot of guys who have barely (or never) played for England included. Squad seems to lack creatvity. Has pace and power (as ever) but lacks guile.
Which is where the continued non selection of Cipriani is unusual. Guy would have a stack of caps if he were from any other nation. Genuine X factor.

Definitely a Celt. I thought he sounded Scottish
Calling your kid Ruaridh as opposed to Rory is about as Scottish as kilts, shortbread and whisky.

He's a bit of a sly fucker that one albeit quite a decent player.
At one point I noticed he accidentally stuck his elbow into a someone's back who was prone on the ground. Very brave

Scotland getting horsed by France apparently (I’m out). 15-0 after 20 mins.
Our new tactic of acquiring an insurmountable deficit working well again.

Aye. That was the bit that prompted me to post. Ran a good 20 yards to do it to despite the whistle having been blown!

England doing the trick where they convince everyone to thinking they are nailed on for the WC final only to be utter shite at the tournament then? That’s a big defeat for the Irish to swallow though.
Just on way back from Murrayfield. Mixed bag from us. Gave away *another* try within 2 minutes but managed to scrap our way to a decent 17-14 win. Pretty dominant up front. Rusty as fuck through the backs.

Out of the country on hols but on paper that looks a hammering and with a strong side out. We peaked a year too soon and a lot of our players are looking their age
