For me personally, my LFC spend is just about zero most years. But I don't have kids, and on the rare occasion I go to games, I'm sorted out for a ticket by folk on here. I think I bought my nephew some LFC Top Trumps last Christmas. Did a stadium tour last time I went to Anfield. That's about it.
I haven't bought a replica shirt since the days of Torres. And I don't pay for a sports TV subscription.

No, I usually end up with someone's season ticket / fan card. They get my money and a credit on their fan card to say they've been to the game.
I don't buy from the club directly because it's practically impossible, and I refuse to buy a fan card on the off chance that I might go to a game.
So the club don't receive a penny from me "borrowing" the ticket for game.

I don't really spend much now that I think about it, he gets kits for X-mas or birthday from grand parents etc. but that's it. But I also do think it's maybe best for him not to be associated with this friggin club

I'm on zero this year.
I've always had an international membership and for a while had paytv, but I now get EPL free (legit) and didn't bother renewing my membership this season.
My dad will no doubt send me a shirt for xmas but that doesn't really count as it's not my cash.

My match purchases on my account go back to 2004, scrolling through the list and just seeing £££'s down the page is pretty grim

Yep, add in all the other costs its crazy, cant imagine how much lads who go to aways and in europe must spend.
I look at it like I pay in £25 a week to go to say 26 games a year, 26 days out. Could probably go a nice week long holiday for that.
I dont regret it, but when you look at the total figure and think of it in terms of house etc its mad

It's nuts to think of the time and money we spend on this sport. I guess when you put it into perspective most people would jump at the chance to have a season ticket though...

Memories and connections are what contribute most of the quality of most people's lives and the camaraderie through a shared experience of success, failure, frustration and jubilation are what keep us coming back for more despite our (and yes me too) constant threats of letting the whole thing go.
------------------------
Club merchandise is still a bloody rip off and the constant changes contribute to rampant consumerism and waste so I'm against it.
Keep your kit designs for 2 seasons minimum.

It is, and that figure of 600 does not include goals scored for the Barca B and C teams, nor does it include any goals he scored for the Argentinian Under 23s/20s.
His 539 goals for the Barca first team is a staggering figure.

Shame he will never have a bash in another league. In some ways it would be great to see how he got on playing for someone else, but in others horrendous due to the fact it would most likely be one of the Manc teams.
He'd be amazing in the PL.

So, the Barcelona President and Gerard Pique have confirmed that there's a clause in Messi's contract that allows him to leave for free at the end of the season.
However, Barca's President has said that Xavi, Iniesta, and Puyol had similar clauses.
Quote:
'Messi signed until 2021. It was agreed that at the end of the penultimate season he is at liberty to leave for free,' the president told Barca TV.
'He has earned that freedom to decide his future, but he is very Cule and I am calm. Xavi, Iniesta and Puyol had the same clause.
'We couldn't give Messi a different clause, but I repeat, I am in no doubt he will stay for many years.'
|
I wonder if City will try and tempt him.

I thought the clause was supposed to be for only non-European teams, in case he wanted to return to Argentina.
He can still sign for New York FC and then for City for peanuts

But can he do it on a cold night in Stoke? We’ll never know as he’s never tried himself in the toughest league has he. We do know he can’t do it on balmy evening in Liverpool though when his team has a 3 goal lead after the 1st leg.
