A lot of talk about Neymar's goal, but this one was better IMO:

They're all mercenaries tbh. I'm not sure how many people would turn down an offer of 500k per week for 6 years regardless of how much they might already have.

Yes, hard to say no to that amount of money. But he could be the heir to Messi at a truly great club, maybe time to renegotiate his current deal? Barca would be wiser to put the proposed fee for Coutinho into a new deal for Neymar.

Good news for us. I reckon Barca can't afford Phil without flogging someone like Neymar.

So is he going to sign an improved contract? - I'm assuming that was what this was all about then, it always seemed mad to me for him to leave Barcelona at his peak and move to France

Neymar will buy-out his contract "on his own", the state of Quatar will just happen to give him €300m for his promotion of the 2022 World Cup. PSG will avoid any FFP problems this way, as they won't pay any transfer fees. Brilliant.

Also, the transfer is delayed because Neymar has to stay in Barca until a certain date if he wants them to pay a loaylty bonus od more than €20m.

Would be lovely if they could rush through a rule disallowing a player to buy their own contract above $10m or something like that. Fucking shady bollocks.

That's the only way buy-out clauses in Spain work, players buying out their contracts themselves. Except I guess it's usually the buying club that's officially on paper to provide the player with money. PSG just found a loophole, and I think Real has been know in the past for doing it as well, with the help of the city of Madrid.

Maybe we should just bid for Neymar, that way him and Coutinho can stroke each other. VVD and Keita money put together and we are not far off

On the contrary we should be looking at ways to help PSG get the deal done, for instance... I really think Adrien Rabiot could push on and become something special but being homegrown I think PSG will want to retain him a potential future captain perhaps.

Probably need about double that to cover when you consider the mad wages. Be nice though wouldn't it?

The FFP rules are likely (according to reports) to be circumvented with a ridiculous cash payout in order to pay off his contract.

If there are rules about ownership interfering with a club's business (Red Bull owning two clubs for instance) then surely something can be done about this 'insider trading'?

Hasn't it been said that if FFP ever made it impossible for a player to move and in the case of Neymar that appears to be the case as the fee is so high, then it would actually interfere with his employment rights?

Barcelona are a smug, underhand club and I for one wouldn't be too unhappy to see them on the receiving end.. Albeit not if it means Coutinho leaves

As if Barca haven't financially muscled clubs into a transfer before. They just don't like being bullied, they like doing the bullying.

Exactly.

It's tough shit really isn't it?

If he wants to leave and if PSG will pay clearly crazy money for him (£100m above transfer record ), then what are you going to do? (pay crazy money for Coutinho I'd imagine).
