Anderson out, Denly but also maybe Ali and Bairstow. Unlikely they'll go as far as dropping Bairstow but he has to improve.

Yeah I'd be tempted to get Foakes in for Bairstow.

That would also give us the dream middle order of Stokes, Foakes and Woakes.

Away from England being awful in the first test Ackerman took 7 for 18 in the T20 blast tonight. 7 wickets in 4 overs. Insane!

Yup, play abandoned for the day.

I'm tempted to predict it might be England's best day of the entire series.

And August is usually wetter than July or September, even if a bit hotter.

It's been the wettest summer (or winter) in my living memory. Fucking relentless. The last test was the only break of the summer's shite weather I reckon. Could be a 1-0 win

Seem to remember some kerfuffle a few ashes series ago when quite a few got rained off. They moved it from August and the weather men had to come out and explain that it should have been a good decision, just bad luck that year.

This summer has been like making love to a beautiful woman; Hot and Wet

Some serious pace from Archer. Good to see it back in the game.

Loved seeing Smith getting hit like that, brilliant.

Yes, as a former top order batsmen I love watching the challenge of a fast bowler running in trying to take a batsmens head off. Smith is a cunt of note and he isn't seriously injured. Aggressive, intimidating fast bowling is a beautiful part of the game.

Find it ironic that you, who celebrated Adonis Stevenson being put into a critical condition after getting knocked out have an issue my comments.

That was a savage blow on Smith.

Love him or hate him, (he seems alright to me (cheating aside) England just really struggle to get him out) that was a harsh blow, and very similar to the one that did for Philip Hughes. Zero protection on the neck.

Express bowling from Archer though.

Are we comparing Stevenson to Smith? Really?

Given what happend with Phil Hughes a few years back the fact that you're reveling in Smith being hit in the neck would suggest that you're a cunt

Can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Guess the West Indian attack in the 80s were horrid then.

I have friends that played club cricket with him in Sydney and by all accounts he's an absolute prick. When he got his first IPL contract when he was a shite leg spinner he celebrated by buying an entire bar Cristal and Red Bull. Complete wanker.

Nope, just saying that you have a disregard for human life. I don't want to see anyone get seriously hurt in any capacity, but it is satisfying seeing a fuckwit like Smith get one. If that makes me a cunt, I'm fine by it.

Thousands of crickets have been hit by the ball. One tragically had fatal consequences. It's by far the exception, not the rule. In the nets I've bowled short balls and hit teammates on the head and we've all had a laugh about it. One incident, as tragic as it was, won't change my perception.
