To be fair to Roy, yes I will respectfully call him by his proper name from now on, I caught his pre-match interview on the radio yesterday. He mentioned that sitting back and defending against City is just waiting to lose by a couple of goals. Going forwards and having something on the board 'ourselves' was the way he was going to approach it. He wasn't lying and obviously motivated his stars to go out and implement the plan.

Respect.

He was one of the few managers that did that against United when he managed Fulham and it paid off for him.

Unfortunately that meant I expected similar tactics when he took charge here, brave attacking football.

To be fair to Roy he re-wrote the rules of bravery when he played attacking football with Poulson and Spearing.

Don't know why, but I didn't realise/appreciate just how good City were last year. 19 wins, 1 draw in the first half of season is outrageous.

Fuck you pep you fruad! Couldnt even go out and hug his players like usual. Ran off down the tunnel in search for another transfer rule to break. The only people I feel sorry for are the media. They so desperately want to write a frothing article about pep and city but havent had the chance lately. Poor bastards.

What a fucking brilliant result: Out all day so kept away from the scores until I got back just now and at the risk of sounding like an Evertonian I enjoyed seeing this one almost as much as I did seeing ours.

They'll still do their best to buy the title this year. These scumbags will no doubt be ready to spunk another £150 million worth of mercenaries in January, and conjure up some more shady sponsorship deals to avoid FFP. All whilst the idiot authorities do nothing to punish them.

In some parallel universe where they weren't bailed out by oil and blood money they'll be rotting in League One, or if they're lucky then maybe the Championship.

I know it's only the cup competitions with Rotherham and Burton Albion but 16 goals in two games... feels like they have their mojo back and the pressure will be on us with them breathing down our necks. Hopefully their goal difference doesn't go nuclear in the League as well...

Citeh fans at work are actually becoming worse than the Utd ones... unbearable

They've just got a massively expensive and high quality squad so cup competitions are water off a ducks back. It's also why they will likely win the league.

Guardiola would have to have the best win percentage of his career to overtake us. Not saying it's impossible, just that we're in a very strong position despite the small margin of four points.

That's assuming that Liverpool continue to pick up points at the same rate as they have done so far.

Assuming we continue to pick up the same points then he'd have to start getting 4 points for a win to overtake us

Honestly, I will be amazed if we get 3 points at the weekend & that will increase the pressure even more so.

'Amazed' if we beat Brighton and Hove Albion? A team with a 35 year old journey man spearheading their attach, a 38 year old fb up against the best wide men in the league and a team that have less than half our points total this season? Amazed?

Bruno is back up now; Montoya is solid at RB. I get what you are saying, but i honestly think they will give us a tough game.

Nope, 3 points per game would have them finish on 101.
Us continuing on the same ppg would be 98.

I thought Bruno reestablished himself, but you are right.

After recent results, I can understand the apprehension, but we really should be beating these quite comfortably.

Obviously we may not win. But we fucking should..! I think a lot of supporters are gearing themselves for disappointment - but we should really enjoy it. Top of the League, and we deserve it - the view is magnificent.

I didn't realise it meant them not dropping any points. Bit of an ask that they can go on a 17 game winning streak

I think the win % stat was from the Guardian Football weekly podcast right? That said Guardiola best win % was 85% over a season, which would give City something like 92 points. So the assumption there was 93 would win the title. At least that’s what I remember from the podcast, could have some numbers wrong

They got 100 points last season though.

85% win rate equates to 96 points. Add a few draws and you get to 100 points I think

I don't like previous comparisons, they are as useful as a tits on a bull.

This City Team will break records because they are the costliest assembled team of all time. They broke records last season and we'll have to set new highs to win the fucking thing, which to our credit we have been doing.
