A horrendous side, a couple of decent players and a load of absolutely dreadful footballers. Hard to see how they change with no CL and somehow no money. Need to strike lucky with a couple of bargains and a youth genius but easier said than done.

Still, Iím sure Fredo will be telling us how amazing they are when they beat Ukraineís 5th best side in the Europa group stage again.

It does, aye, just to clarify, but Chelsea would have been in Pot 2 otherwise.
Much like ourselves going into Pot 2 unless we win on Saturday.

The very fact that those Chelsea bellends could come out of this season with a trophy and a better CL placing annoys me no end.

If the unthinkable happens.

Which it won't.

Well that was a totally shit final - shit stadium, shit atmosphere, shit pitch, shit venue, shit fans, shit players. Totally shit.

I feel for both sets of fans in having to travel that far, UEFA really should have stepped in and held it at Wembley etc.

Something needs to happen. There are probably 50 stadium in Europe that could host a final so why don't UEFA wait until the finalists are known and then pick a neutral ground equidistant to those teams? UEFA could charter flights for the fans, alocate 70% of tickets to those that deserve them, split 50/50 and save the remaining 30% for their beloved corporate seats.

This awarding the final years in advance is, let's face it, so that UEFA officials can get a tasty back hander, but does nothing to showcase the final and only distracts from it as a sporting spectacle. We appreciate ithe problem as we've had to deal with it for 3 years in succession. I bet you'd be hard pressed to find a WHU or Palace fan who knows anything about it

I can see that argument, but I can also see the one for having everything arranged in advance. Perhaps they should have some kind of short list of say 4 or 5 places that it could be held and when the finalists are known (or perhaps even at the semi final stage) they could decide a suitable venue. Once somewhere has held it they can't hold it again for a few years.

The problem for me is holding it in a city that can't handle the number of fans and doesn't have regular direct flights from alot of major airports in Europe. For me that is organization 101. If we are going to be honest the majority of finalists are going to come from central or western Europe so that is where they should be held. The cities in those areas with stadia big enough all have good infrastructure.

Or just have it permanently in the centre of europe somewhere, i.e, prague.

Sure other countries would complain, but that's life, its better to be fair on fans.

Build it in Geneva -

Nice and central for most teams likely to make it to the final, access to Europe's finest beers, international connections, good roads, euro clunge from all directions.

I'm not sure they had everything ready in advance. Masses of empty seats and fans unable to get flights and accommodation would suggest otherwise

And having the game start at 11pm local time or whatever it was. That is ridiculous, wonder if it was a reason for that sluggish first half

The player's body clocks wouldn't have been on Baku time though so can't see that as an excuse. I think it was nerves and Chelsea managed to settle theirs first.

But yeah, 11pm start just to accommodate TV schedules is ridiculous. Pretty sure penalties in Istanbul fell on Thursday morning

KO should be 8pm central European time and not UK time. I'm sure no one would fret about having the game start here at 7pm

These are real supporters, I quite like them. They are passionate and gutted.

The players should be forced to listen to the first guy in the top clip at leat until he kicks off

I didn't see it, but it was fairly shitty that they needed to be reminded to go over to the fans and that's before you consider the performance

Arsenal are in a real predicament now......There two main assets and best players are Lacazette 28 and Aubameyang who will be 30 in a few weeks no doubt on high wages,If they don't get CL next season they will look for a transfer and that's if they can sell them...apart from those two Arsenal look fucked

Chinese clubs Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG are interested in signing Arsenal's Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and are offering to pay him nearly £300,000 a week. (Times - subscription required)

Them being in football is of course great, but I feel them spending way OTT is not good for football, I mean there are some average to good players there commanding World Class salaries and transfer fees.
