I'm not sure of the details to be honest.

Its truly amazing what some people have put in, setting up direct debits with zero promises, other than the hope that this day might come.

I've a mate who has a season ticket and has contributed to FOH. He just pays up every month no questions asked as he loves the club. Juat googling now and they have all raised £12m so far.

All of this for a team who, at best might have an outside chance at a domestic cup once or twice a decade.

It does make me appreciate how spoilt we are as Liverpool supporters and is in no small part why I can never be truly negative. We have no idea how lucky we are. Champions Leagues and League titles. I'm not sure many would have the stomach for real football.

One or two on the matchday thread may want to reconnect with the lower levels of the game

Absolute panic stations if we don't win every game.

That's always struck me as how Bayern work, strengthen their team and weakening their domestic rivals at the same time

They paid Ä70m for those 3 - Red Bull usually have a plan so letís see. How Naglesmann gets on will be fascinating

What strikes me is how other clubs allow it. You might as well have the Bayern league and the rest.

I like the fact England played tonight and during the game nobody was arsed enough to post about it. I don't give a shit about the national team but a 4-0 win away in front of a racially abusive crowd is satisfying.

Speaking of people speaking out of turn, i wonder if anything will be said about the male commentator for Soccer Aid today, who talked about opposition player not liking that Mark Wright was getting a bit physical, and then went on to say "I wouldn't mind him getting a bit physical with me". It was a little bit cringey, but then i thought 'if it was a man saying that about one of the female players, there would be snowflakes up in arms.

It's context innit.

What do people mean by that if it was in reference to a man rather a woman?

Were Brazil at full strength for this one? I thought the PL clubs weren't going to release players, but the Argentina side had 4 PL players in it?

Edit: Looks like the PL Brazil boys were not involved so Brazil were under-strength..ulterior motive for the Brazil officials to step in??

Former France defender Jean-Pierre Adams has died at the age of 73, almost 40 years after falling into a coma following a medical error.

His former clubs, Paris St Germain and Nimes, confirmed his death on Monday.

In 1982, Adams was administered a near-fatal dose of anaesthetic ahead of a routine knee operation, which caused brain damage.

The Dakar-born Adams had won 22 caps for Les Bleus in the 1970s, forming a formidable partnership with Marius Tresor.

He played for Nimes from 1970-73 and for PSG from 1977-79 after joining from Nice.

Since the accident, Adams has been cared for by his wife, Bernadette.

I don't understand why you would keep someone on life support for nearly 40 yrs.

Aye....

CNN's pice from a bit back has some information around what transpired

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn...oma/index.html

Quote:
"Jean-Pierre was supervised by a trainee, who was repeating a year, who later admitted in court: 'I was not up to the task I was entrusted with.'

"Given it was not a vital operation, that the hospital was on strike, they were missing doctors and this woman was looking after eight patients, in two different rooms, someone should have called me to say they were going to delay the operation."

They never did -- and between the anesthetist and trainee, numerous errors were made.

Jean-Pierre was badly intubated, with one tube blocking the pathway to his lungs rather than ventilating them, meaning he was starved of oxygen whereupon he suffered a cardiac arrest.

"I found him lying on a bed, tubes everywhere," she remembers after rushing to the hospital. "I didn't leave the hospital for five days. I thought he was going to wake up and that I needed to be there."
