An innings defeat when in reality Australia only scored 267.
It’s really staggering stuff.

Sack Silverwood, Root step down as captain, give it to Stokes, keep those two plus Anderson and Robinson and drop everybody else.

Wholesale changes
Bit harsh on Root really. He's lucky to still have his nuts after blows he's copped, now you want to take his captaincy away from him too

Just watching the T20 Big Bash cricket over here in Aust & some young Pakistani bowler on debut for Sydney finished his first over 3-0 & just missed a hat trick.

Pretty mad that having a player score a ton and only being 160 odd runs behind with 3 wickets to fall is being viewed as a great day for England.

Pretty standard fare at the end of the nineties/early 00's.
Hayden, Langer etc.. teeing off on our bowling attack until they got bored!

Crawley was really good, having an opener get a decent score, and hang about for a few hours made all the difference.
Still a pretty dominant display from Australia but a much better outcome from England.

I actually couldn't believe it. Anyone else would face a huge fine and a ban. The ICC need to show some balls and do the same to him. The irony of the "whole country against 11" comment is ridiculous. Who shouts into the stump mic attacking the broadcaster, even some Indians at my work were disappointed with him. Especially when the DRS is done via the independent, Hawkeye.
Huge result, we usually flatten India at home, but this team is not the same Proteas team as before. The batting is diabolical, the seam bowling is amazing as always. The fact we can win games without batsmen is incredible, this is the same Indian team that beat Australia away just a year ago. The protagonists like Pujara really battled which is testament to the bowling attack.
Special mention to Keegan Petersen who looks amazing. Can't wait for his first hundred. Fuck limited overs cricket, looking forward to the tests in NZ.

To be fair that ball was smashing the stumps, not a chance that was bouncing over. Something odd must've happened with the hawkeye thing there. But yeah you cant go around yelling into the stumps at the broadcasters.

That was a good opening session. 68 for 1 at tea. Obviously we'll collapse all out for around 150. But fun for a bit.

I have no doubt that was 100% out even the umpire (Erasmus - home) looked perplexed by it. Everyone's been screwed over by shit decisions, other players don't go behaving like that. Elgar only got about 10 or 15 more runs anyway, so it wasn't really an expensive mishap. Also I'm pretty sure he was given not out and the same 'crooked' DRS system reversed the decision. I thought the standard of officiating was really good in the series.
I see he resigned as captain. I bet there will be no disciplinary action. Shows how biased this is. Rabada gets bans for celebrating enthusiastically. Steve Smith and Warner get a few matches for the sand paper (Cricket Australia gave the harsher ban) and every England and Indian player are untouchable.

Even by England standards this is some collapse.
There’s been about 6 wickets in 20 mins.

That’s it.
What an abysmal tour.
Quite well summarised at the end, “it hasn’t been a whitewash, but in many ways it has been worse”.

All ten wickets in 22 overs for 56 runs in about 90 mins. Astonishing really.

Not in any of the matches at any point. Bowlers did ok at times but the batting line up needs to wholesale changes.
I never want to see Burns or Pope in the side again. Don’t think Butler has a future in red ball test cricket and far from convinced with Malan or Hameed either. Root and a fit Stokes and maybe Bairstow deserves to keep their places.
Massive rebuild it’s like the 90s all over again

Really hard to find any positives… Wood bowled really well throughout. Crawley looked decent when he came in…
I’m out after that.
Even Root was dragged into the mediocrity.

Absolutely dreadful. Won't improve until proper focus is given the County Championship. Seems like the whole of this season was focused on the fucking hundred. County Champs no prominence, barely any T20 on the telly, the one day cup relegated to midweek days. Need a real proper overhaul of the calendar to allow access to, focus on, and importance given to the long game.

Big Bash League: Glenn Maxwell hits record 154 off 64 for Melbourne Stars
Glenn Maxwell broke the record for the highest individual score in Australia's Big Bash League when he made an astonishing unbeaten 154 in Melbourne Stars' win against Hobart Hurricanes.
Maxwell faced 64 balls for his 154, which is the ninth-highest individual score in all Twenty20 cricket.
He smashed four sixes and 22 fours to help the Stars reach 273-2, the highest total by a T20 franchise team.

Considering WI were 65/7 after 12.2 for England to concede 105 in 7.4 and only take 1 more wicket is pretty poor
