I was football fatigued so actually didn't mind the break.
Now I'm bored without it.
Can't win.
Don't think we've had any injuries yet from the internationals have we? Are all our players back?

Is it wrong that I’ve quite enjoyed the last 2 weeks where we’ve had no games?

Yeah I can't wait for the Madrid matches. The rest still feel like a bit of drag though.
I'm already at the stage where I only watch Liverpool matches, and even they're been a struggle at times this season .
Hoping once fans are back it will reinvigorate my passion for football, because at the moment it's waning slightly.

I’m looking forward to the games also. But it was far too much football over the last 6 months.

Yup I feel the same. Fortunately it's coincided with a decent uptick in work and nicer weather for mountain biking!

Id be happy playing the ressies. You win it you get extra a lot of ectra cash, and a boost to your coefficient, plus a route into the CL. Better than the league and fa cups

I would obviously prefer the champions league but so many of our players are cold when we need them. If we qualify for this or EL then they will get plenty of games - Neco, Rhys, Nat, Kelleher, Tsimikas, Naby, Minamino, Jones etc. It was great for Greenwood and other kids at United
If we do qualify then treat it as the reserves league and keep our main players completely out of it

The trouble is half of those players have been injured for a large chunk of this season & first team players would have to play instead. I agree with your sentiment though of just playing the kids/ fringe players but this season those players have been needed for the important PL matches quite often too.

True about the injuries but we have to hope this season is a freak and not the norm

Yeah I’m not sure it is to be fair as our style of playing & even training tends to cause a greater than normal level of injuries. We’ve even managed to break Millie a few times & that was unthinkable not so long back.
I do hope your right of course & im proven to be speaking rubbish by this time next season

Milner is 35 years old and has been playing 1st team football regularly since he was 17. He has a lot of miles on the clock.
The bulk of our injury problems this season (Virgil, Matip, Thiago, Jota) have been impact injuries, nothing to do with playing style or training. That and the schedule has had a knock on effect of muscle injuries like Fab and Henderson, but every club is up for fatigue related injuries this season because of the crazy schedule. There’s also been the added problem of Covid (Trent, Mane, Salah, etc).
In a normal season, the past 3 for example, we’re actually very good at managing against fatigue injuries.

I would say we are among the very best at having our ‘key’ players available most of the time - this season has been a complete anomaly

Depending on the West Ham v Wolves result, it looks like we will be back in the top 4 with a win v Villa on Sat.
And we should be pretty motivated to be playing them again...!!!

We will be in the top 4 regardless with a win? unless they win 7-0!!
Does seem everyone around us has let us back in the driving seat.

PL 2020/21 Season.
West Ham scraping by with a 2-3 win against Wolves. They’ve got a relatively easy run in with just Leicester and Chelsea looking like a tricky one.
We need to smash Villa and Madrid at home. Would take a score draw tomorrow night in a normal season... but with current home form, we’ll need a healthy away win...
