I was just re-reading the quote to remind myself his answer to Ďwhy does tennis mean so much to youí. And when you know the answer and then watch the roar after the likes of that shot vs Gasquet it makes a lot of sense. He has an inner rage.

When he explains about his brother moving away it breaks your heart a little bit knowing heís been through Dunblane and then his parents splitting.

I think weíve all suffered watching Andy over the years, but thatís why the celebrations mean so much more when he achieved something and won titles and slams, and olympics and Davis cups.

When you really like someone in sport and watch them fail and the. Succeed itís an amazing feeling. A bit like a certain team we all follow.

The Aussie Government must be getting close to the point of telling the Tennis players to 'do one' and cancelling the Australian Open.

2 more positive tests confirmed amongst those flown in for the tournament.

I managed to organise this for my aunt who is 83 and was diagnosed with Termjnal cancer last April.

She played tennis at club level to that point and used to have to keep quiet about her age as she thought they would go easy on her when they knew she was 80! She is and has always been an inspiration in my lifetime, so it was great to do something that made her so happy.

She walks three - four miles a day and we see her pass my house and have put messages up for her in the window. I am confident she he is going to live long past her initial diagnosis.

By all accounts she was in tears of joy upon seeing this

All organised by the Hibs Community team my son plays for, which as a Hearts supporter leaves me feeling quite compromised. (I’d hoped they’d supply video so I had to quickly put something together when supplied with an audio file).

Andy Murray 2 sets and a break up in the first round vs 24th seed, Basilashvili.

A bit rusty from Andy but will be a huge win if he can see it over the line.

Somehow from 5-0 up in the third set Murray is now 5-6 down.

Wow, epic stuff from Murray. Rolling back the years. It's sad his body has failed him over the last 4 years.

Its great to see him back competing. Doing all right given a lack of time on court over the last... 4 years.

I live that he dissent give a fuck if people think he should be playing any more. He is playing because he loves the game and can still enjoy occasions such as tonight.

Those injuries have cost him titles though.

I found it difficult to enjoy tbh. It was great seeing him pumped and coming from behind, but that Otte guy is a no-hoper and I found it hard watching Murray make such hard work of him. He's absolutely miles off what he was.

So funny when he kept shouting 'BELTER!' at himself

Well, that’s true and Otte was a qualifier who has barely won on the tour. That said, and sill caveat this with no way is Murray winning this, he has had no time on court and is beating guys who have played a lot. Previous round was the 24 seed.

I think the journey now is just enjoying the remaining moments, the flashes of genius that still occur. I though elements of his rhythm and timing were returning towards the end, a couple of the lobs he played were fantastic.

I hope he can go longer into Wimbledon and more importantly avoid injury. If he can get into next week and still play without injury that does bode well for the future. He’s played 9 sets in 3 days on a metal hip! Testament to the power of medical science and the wonder of the hip replacement!!!

It’s not just because he’s Scottish, but tennis is so much more bearable with him in it. The only other guy that is an actual personality is Kygrios. I love the way Andy orchestrates the crowd to get himself fired up. It’s a huge advantage.

I'd be surprised - but totally delighted - if he makes it through the next round. Tennis won't be the same without him. My support would go to Kyrgios for sure.

Just saw, he's got Shapalova on Friday. 10th seed. I dont think Andys game is there yet. But with him, you never rule anything out!!! If he takes a set, I think he could look on this as a positive return, but he is going to need a lot more time on court to make the improvements he needs.

I thought in patches he played good, just the otherr lad is much younger, fitter and stronger. The last few games took the legs out of him. If he stays fit, with games he should be able to get amongst the top 20.

It got away from him second set and I didnít watch the third. But it was close at the start of the first. But then he slipped, changed his shoes, went 5-1 down, fought back to 5-4 then lost the set 6-4 (vintage Murray tbf). There wasnít much in it.

Iím intrigued. Has he still got the game to compete? I think he has. But is he fit enough? To me he was maybe 5% down on mobility still chasing down a lot, but maybe not quite as well as he used to (though he did used to be a wall). So can he string enough tournaments together to be competitive? It all comes down to that.

He got to the last 32 at Wimbledon with pretty much zero match practice. Itís going to be interesting to follow. I just hope he doesnít break down with another serious injury that would be tough to watch.

Kyrgios has had to pull out mid March due to injury. He looked in great form and as ever was absolutely box office on and off court.

If she wasn’t a sports star she and her family would not exactly have thousands of people cheering for them right now.

What a bizarre country.

That's exactly what I was thinking too. Chest pains but she looked fine. She was OK until she tossed up serving to stay in the first set. After that she was treading water

Confirmed as "difficulty breathing". Christ. Must have been a panic attack or something similar.

As ever AM calls it. Of course mental toughness is important, its hardly revelatory what Morgan and Pietersen are suggesting.

I hope she bounces back and proves all the doubters wrong.

It is mental how everything turns into this left vs right power struggle. These events are a moment in time, yet seem to used to leverage proof of one opinion or another. It is exhausting.
