Pretty remarkable that this guy on his own had a meeting with Werner, and couldn't even get past the vetting stage with the investment bank. Didn't even provide a simple deposit according to reports.

Poor Newcastle. Imagine being owned by someone with an appalling record on human rights abuses only to be sold to someone e even worse.

They won't give a shit where the money comes from - I haven't met a single City fan who cares about the UAE human rights abuses; you bring it up & it's the usual 'you're just jealous' BS

Sad but true

Wonder if we would be any different in that situation?

I remember the reaction of people to Patrice Evra's racism accusations at Suarez

What where the DIC guys like? I remember some people talking about not wanting them because of these types of things. And when we had the China buys Liverpool, we got lucky with our current owners that’s for sure.

I saw one man city fan saying but there are american so they have issues too, look at what America does which makes no sense and it’s a completely different situation to their owners.

Yes that’s a good point. Had forgotten he wanted to buy LFC. What a disaster that would have been

Nearest place to the garage where the car was being serviced ; when I booked it in I asked if it could be the first job.

"Yeah course mate no problem, it's only the minor one this time".

Nearly 4 hours later I was still sitting there

Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce would welcome an approach from Newcastle United after the ex-Sunderland boss became the favourite to succeed Rafael Benitez at St James' Park. (Chronicle)

Planning for the future.... SB is good at getting teams out of the championship

I always thought the link to Ranieri seemed to be the best. A likable character, who can play counter-attacking football, and has some trophies to his name.

Some of his moves post Leicester have been questionable, but he'd seem to fit well for Newcastle IMO.

Surely Bruce must be an old drinking buddy of Ashleys.

Think I'm going to lump on them being relegated this season

My mate is a Sheffield Wednesday fan and every single summer he goes on their pre-season trip to Portugal. He met Steve Bruce a couple of days ago and had his pic taken with him. He asked Bruce about the Newcastle link and Bruce said confidently "I'm going nowhere mate", so my mate duly splashed the pic and the quote all over his social media.

I'm not sure what Bruce was supposed to say tbh, but still, what a cunt!

Fire Bobby Robson, hire Souness
Fire Keegan, hire Joe Kinnear
Let Benitez walk away and replace with Steve Bruce

How many unbelievably moronic decisions can a club get away with.

You missed the best one

Give Alan Pardew an 8 year contract and then sack him the next season

Worrying if they do appoint Bruce.

The six points he'll gift Man United next season may save them from relegation.
