Exactly.

I know we have another huge weekend before then, but we need a thread.

Yes. This is it. Exactly.

Now fuck off all of you with your sense of positivity and rational thoughts. Remember it’s the hope that kills you. My gloom and despondency are the only things that will keep me together when Spurs overturn a 3-0 deficit to beat us in “the greatest final of all time”. The cunts. [harumphs off somewhere to take his angst out on some unsuspecting colleague].

The thing is it will be humiliating to lose to Spurs - genuinely heartbreaking as opposed to just gut-wrenching like last year. We would have been far more likely to beat Ajax, their naivety was breathtaking.

But losing to Spurs is just literally too horrific to think about for me, it's three weeks of constant worry now instead of been able to look forward to a glorious European occasion. Spurs ffs. They've been incredibly lucky to get here and I just can't shake that nagging feeling. Plus as others have pointed out they have adapted themselves and played really well against us at times over the past 2 seasons. They were superb against us at Anfield last year - easily the best team we played.

Will re-watch the Barcelona match and scenes afterwards tonight and hopefully feel a bit more optimistic. But it's either a glorious summer of joyous memories and grinning from ear to ear or weeks and months of torture and tears.

I just wanted to face that Ajax keeper. His kicking was all over the place. We'd have forced him into loads of mistakes.

Yeah very dodgy keeper too - although Loris does have his moments...

We have the experience of last year. We are so much more balanced and controlled now. Last year it was go out and attack and when Mo went off it did have a massive impact mentally for the team.

Plus the revamped midfield with our captain ripping it up further up the field and this year our attacking depth isn’t an unfit Lallana. Origi is in form and confident and the little man has shown he can influence things off the bench, Newcastle, and starting against Barca.

And how could Mo not end up being man of the match after last year. He’ll be so up for winning it and making up for missing out last year.

Watching back last night. TV doesn't do the atmosphere justice at all. Our press was so aggressive with 6-7 forward you can't see on TV what potential gaps we left at back if they did break through.

Roma home last year was all the best attacking football I've seen for a 50 minute period. Us pinning Barca in their own half is just as good.

It was insane on the kop before Suarez even kicked off with boo's and whistles.

Sounded better in the second half on TV. Either they turned it up or the rest of the ground upped their game

I love that Barca got boo’d onto the pitch even for their warm up. You could tell they weren’t used to that.

I think they typically get treated like the Harlem Globetrotters. The thing I hate most about Barca is the fawning over them by opposition fans. It’s the same with Brazil and was why that time they got gubbed by Germany was so beautiful. This was the same

Was also great to witness the realisation on Suarez face that he was no prodigal son.

Best bit for me was when the camera was on Suarez after we scored the third and he's just standing there stunned shaking his head.

The LOL moment for me is that guy sitting quietly with his family at the table whenever the camera panned far right. Looked suicidal from the first goal and went downhill from there.

The scenes at the final whistle when our captain Henderson lies in a heap of exhaustion pitch side and has to be helped up makes me well up for him. I've been hard on him over the years at times but he has been a magnificent captain this season.
