Don't want to alarm you all but I've just pipped us to thrash Everton next in the other thread. :gulp:

Mane, Thiago and Salah against Everton. White wee all over my walls.
Surely even Everton fans must be dreading this? Through all their intellectually challenged bitterness and denial.

If that was played later in the season I would agree with you. Thiago has barely played a game for us and this game is also being played after an international break, meaning the gap between both teams will be blurred.

They have Richarlson, Rodriguez and Mina returning late from Internationals, so should work in our favour. Although we have Bobby and Firmino in same boat, we are less reliant on them (or should I say, have better replacements, should we need to rest them) and have the advantage of having 3 of our best players available for training this week.

Did I hear the other night that it's 10 games since he last scored?
It's interesting that Mo is having one of his productive seasons and has been getting criticised for not contributing enough, but Mane has went this long spell without a peep. We give referees and pundits grief for holding Mo to a different standard to other players, yet many fans do the same. It used to be argued that we just take him for granted, expect the exceptional, but there definitely is a bizarre desire to find reasons to criticise him.
Anyway, back to Mane. He's contributed more than enough over the years to be allowed a bit of a barren spell. No better time to put things right than tonight.

To be fair though, half of Salah's 10 PL goals have been penalties

I was gonna reference that in brackets, but TBH, I'm glad I didn't. The speed of response to highlight this sort of proves my point.

I think he does look a bit fatigued. His blistering pace doesn't seem to be there at the mo.

Aye, that sounds about right. Needs to be put right tonight.
Although just checked and he's only scored in one game against Spurs. 2 goals in 16/17 season.

After he came back from Covid, I felt he's been a bit off.

Thought he was decent at best tonight but nowhere near his top levels, got doubled up on by Aurier and Sissoko in the first half and was man handled all game to be fair, not that we were ever going to get anything off Taylor. Not at his best and going through a bit of a barren patch, just needs a goal to click back into gear.

He was much closer to his old self with his energy levels and endless driving at defences. Just needs to work back in a bit more sharpness but encouraged by this performance.

First 75 minutes, in the game but well managed by Spurs and therefore a bit peripheral. Last 15 he was a monster.

Aurier was all over Sadio, bullying and manhandling, and eventually Sadio started to bite back a little and left Serge on his arse.

That turn and shot late in the game was brilliant, such a shame it wasn't 6 inches lower.

He wasn’t pleased at being subbed after he finally got a goal & could see the potential to fill his Santa sack
