Yeah there’s that too but I honestly think Gomez will start as TAA’s understudy & Ramsay will get the cup games for now.

Neco Williams wants to leave to play regularly, which is fair enough. Given we have Ramsay, Gomez and a couple of others who could fill in in an emergency, for the number of games you would expect him to play there doesn't seem to be a point in keeping him.

My point was that he plays in MIDFIELD for Wales & we could use another midfielder short term until we hopefully sign Bellingham. I understand that he wants regular matches which is why he probably won’t stay but he is under contract after all.

Southgate has used TAA in midfield. I'm not sure that's a sound argument

I still don't think he would get games there either, Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson, Keita, Jones, Elliott and Milner would all be ahead of him Ox too if he stays.

TBH I groan everytime I see Gomez picked at RB.

He is an antiwingback. Perhaps if we need to play a bit more defensive, but how often will that happen in a season?

Forest = Bournemouth

He looked super shaky when he broke through so he must have really excelled for Fulham. Djed Spence is very talented so he is clearly off now (Spurs) and I expect at much more than Neco

He's too good to be playing the odd cup game for us. His proper breakthrough was when the whole team were playing badly so he got a raw deal really. Good luck to him, he'll do well I think.

Be interesting to see how he does at Forest given he looks like being part of a back line that will almost all be new to the club.

Think they are buying a new CB, RB and LB.

Yeah, plus he cut his teeth on our style, which is all about knowing when to get up and get back depending on the play, but being much more attacking. That's going to be an interesting back line for the first part of the season!

I only saw bits of his games for Wales and he looked decent. Obviously getting some regular games and with the reduced intensity he was able to show his ability with less pressure.
Any buy back claws

The CB they got from Mainz is pretty good alright though.

Expectations at Forest will be much lower than with us so just surviving the seson would be seen as a massive win for them.

Their style of play reads like it would suit him, and the fact he looks likely to be a RWB with three CBs behind him will allow him some leeway when it comes to tracking back.

Just reading this on Forest's style of play.

Half of a Mane is some deal for us. On the other hand he showed a lot of potential for Fulham.

I think the defensive issues he had did it for him, also we all know the club rarely drop the ball. Good luck to him though.

Yeah true he’ll probably be happier now to be playing in a lesser side than just a few cup games here & there or hoping that TAA gets injured so he can get a run with us. All the best to the lad. I hope we have a sel on clause to make a few extra ££’s if he kicks on.

I didnt rate him when he first came in, but I think this just shows you how quickly players can develop from kids into good players given the right opportunity. I would have liked to see him given a chance, as he has the eught style and attributes to play as a wingback, but it is good business, and In Klopp we Trust.

Williams £17m
Minamino £13m
Grujic £8m
Mane £30m

So I make it £68m, which more or less covers the initial outlay on Nunez.

I dunno... I think if he continued to develop he would have been a perfect backup to Trent. Maybe he wanted more games though. I doubt Ramsay will be at a higher level right now (happy to be wrong, though). Good price though.

I reckon Ramsey is a better match for what we need as a Trent back right now. I also think Neco probably has had a taste of first team football and doesn't want to be a back up who only plays the odd cup game.

Is that true though?

In tried following Neco while at Fulham, and his style was very similar to Trent. Many Fulham fans commented on this.

I know there is a 3 year age gap, and I have not seen Ramsay play. But on Paper I would have thought Neco was a very good match match in terms of style, and has certainly upped his level. The 1st division is not the PL, but he was tearing it up.

My biggest worry is that if he is not ready for the PL then we are forced to keep aying Trent when he needs a rest or put Gomez in there and lose most of our threat from the right.

As I said, I hope I am wrong, but I am skeptical an 18 year old can come in and do a good job in the most physically and mentally demanding position in the team.
