Haller was superb with Jovic and Rebic at Frankfurt. All of them were sold for big money and none of them set the world on fire anywhere. I genuinely wonder if we sold one of the front 3 how’d they get on separated from each other and the “system”

Arsenal have taken out a short-term £120m loan to help deal with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The club say they "met the criteria set by the Bank of England for the Covid Corporate Financing Facility" and a loan which is repayable in May 2021.

It's going to take a long time to scroll back through my timeline for arsenal fans giving us shit about trying to furlough a few dinner ladies, but it might be worth it.

So basically they have taken an advance on the prize money for this year? What if the season is delayed - where they getting the money from then?

not a bad shout.

Each of them are top class but that is because Jurgen has created this unbelievable partnership amongst them. The clear rivalry between Mane and Salah possibly adds to that too.

My guess is that they would all do well in new teams but not as good as what we have seen. Firmino might be the one who would struggle a little - because the team formation and tactics really need to be set up for him to do well.

Oddly as well, i think it might be Firmino that is most difficult for LFC to replace. So much so that if Jurgen decided to build a new team before he left, we might end up changing the way the team sets up - more to a traditional #9 (a-la Dortmund when he had Lewandowski)

I think Mane would do the best if moved - Salah then and Bobby needs the formation to suit him. Remember Brendan tried to play him wide.....uuuurgh

But he's decided to go to money markets instead of financing it himself so maybe he isn't keen to chuck it in.

Can't believe Sheffield Utd have 2 points after 17 games.

what a fall from grace. Wasnt he in the england squad when he won the league with leicester.....

They bought both Kante and Drinkwater. Kante was obviously the better of the two that season........but christ the two of their careers have essentially went in opposite directions

West ham could be in trouble; Big Sam has thrown them under the bus ...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55723425

Robert Snodgrass' omission from the West Brom squad beaten at West Ham on Tuesday is being investigated by the Premier League.

The former Scotland midfielder, 33, joined Albion from the Hammers on 8 January for an undisclosed fee, making his debut in Saturday's win at Wolves.

But he missed the West Ham game because of "an agreement between the clubs", West Brom boss Sam Allardyce said.

The Premier League will examine whether competition rules have been broken.

Under normal circumstances, Snodgrass would have been eligible to play against West Ham, as his transfer was permanent.

It is only with loan deals that such restrictions apply in the Premier League - in those circumstances, a player cannot face their parent club.

But Allardyce said: "We could only get the deal done with that agreement.

"There was an agreement between the clubs that [in] this game he would not be allowed to play."

Premier League rule I7, listed in the competition's 2020-21 handbook, states that: "No club shall enter into a contract which enables any other party to that contract to acquire the ability materially to influence its policies or the performance of its teams in league matches."

West Brom may be in a bit of bother too. Surely the obligation would be to report it before agreeing to the condition.

Gentleman's agreement...according to the Beeb its fine, United/Everton did it with Tim Howard and no charges were brought...

So long as it isn't actually written into the contract, and is just a verbal agreement.

But wouldn't it be proof that would be the issue in other cases, can always just say it was a tactical decision. But in this case, the manager has said the secret bit outloud.

Yeah but Ferguson was manager of United then and no way they would take him on.

Yeah, not sure what the fat one thought he would gain from all of this. Effectively drawing everyone’s attention to the crime...

Still pretty pathetic from West Ham.
