arse game off defo;
West ham too probably as they played them last weekend
Leicester will then get canned
so i cant see the remaining fixtures happening TBH; if they do what a fricking mess it will end up in.
One thing the prem league wont want is accusations of the brand is all that matters, so we carry on. With so many leagues being suspended they have to postpone or risk being accused of only interested in the £$£$£$£$£ (which thy are)

With the Qatar World Cup looming over the horizon, the football calendar looks set to be turned upside down for a few years.

Surely will be suspended now.
I already thought they should be behind doors anyway, which is obviously shit but better than other outcomes.

Agreed & the best thing the leagues can do now; is take this opportunity to postpone & reschedule the leagues, tournaments to accommodate QATAR without what at present will be a clusterfuck.
We are loosing 6-7 weeks for qatar world cup, so a 4-6 week break now & rearrange this & the next few seasons accordingly

They simply cannot void the leagues arbitrarily; top championship clubs would go under, let alone smaller clubs. The fallout would be of epic proportions

This deep into the season there HAS to be a better solution than voiding the league. Even if that's picking up in August to finish this season before altering the format of the subsequent season to shorten it somehow. That would have to happen quick enough for transfers to occur after promotions / relegations decided. What a shit show.

The Gunners have closed their training ground and club staff who had recent contact with Arteta will now self-isolate.
Arsenal expects a "significant number of people" will self-isolate, including the "full first-team squad".

Yeah, postponing seems the best way out of this. But some experts are predicting 15 weeks if it all blows up ala Italy. Or significantly longer if there's a flat line.
Timescales are super hard to predict so I understand why voiding may well be on the cards. Clubs will fall under just like other business. It's impossible to predict any outcome with any level of certainty.

I think I've massively lost interest in all this, it's just not going to happen for us.

It will initially be a suspension probably 2 weeks initially from either before or after this weekends games. They will then have to review and extend the suspension as appropriate.
Assuming that the Euros are cancelled or moved to 2021 and they attempt to stick to the same type of schedule we have now, two weeks sees the season end at the end of May which would be fine, if the suspension is 6 weeks that becomes the end of June with the new season only 7 or so weeks away, they won't want to push next season back especially if there are newly positioned Euros. So that leaves very little room for adjustment.
I am not sure who makes the decision to void the league, but if a suspension is getting close to 6 weeks I imagine there will be significant support for it. If you look at the PL clubs who would be against voiding the league, the only sides who would benefit from the league continuing (i.e. would be better off where they are now than if this season were restarted) are us, Leicester, Sheffield Utd, Wolves and maybe Man Utd, everyone else has no reason to oppose it.

If they cancel and declare no result I'm well and truly done.
I was saying to my dad the other week, I was starting to think we were cursed, no matter how well we play something always seems to stop us winning. But finally, we're in a position where we won't be stopped, the curse is broken.
A month later......
Love Klopp, love the players, love the owners and the rest of the team, but man, nah. It's just too devastating. It makes me feel silly for being so invested in a game as an adult, but it is what it is.

Hopefully the priority is getting this season done even if it dragged in to later in the year, if next season has to be shorter then can always do some sort of premier league cup or clausura type thing for the few months, the Argies fuck around with their league format all the time now! Even forgetting our situation it just seems much easier to get that done then you at least have answers on who finishes where.
Not sure how this suspend works mind when it's said May etc will be peak time?

Commonsense prevails.
If only they'd suspended UEFA competitions at the start of the week.

There appears to be a willingness inside the organisation to operate outside existing scheduling frameworks in order to finish seasons. Any annulment could see the commencing of legal battles. Particularly at the top of the Championship.

Yep, can see it getting nasty if teams have spent money to get promoted and have that taken away. Itll be finished, as Chris said above, Argentina and others do all sorts to fit the seasons in.

Its not only lawsuits for positions etc..
The decisions will be money driven also
If season is cancelled all clubs would have to refund part of their season tickets
They would lose out on tv revenue bonuses for matches that were scheduled to be on tv
Then there is Premier League prize money, how would that be distributed
Cancelling or voiding it outright or even saying we finish now and every finishes in the league position there in only leads to lawsuits and financial wrangles
Seems very obvious to kick the can down the road for as long as possible
I suspect UEFA will do the same

This has to be the most common sense solution.
Football sticks so rigidly to tradition, format and schedule when an instance like this could be used to freshen up the format once this season is concluded.
Why does the next season have to start in August for example.
Finish the League in the summer, the factor in a new schedule for the next 3-4 seasons.
We could end up with a football Season running from Jan to October. Why not?

Just to be clear though, Simon Hughes is talking about the EFL there, not the EPL.
Although hopefully those in the EPL express the same willingness.

I don't think we'll see the season resume on 3rd of May. The data is pointing to the virus outbreak peaking in 10-14 weeks.
I'd imagine we'll see Euros postponed until 2021 and we'll see seasons around Europe resume for the month of June.
UEFA competitions are abandoned.
