We've got Palace on Sat lunch, not ideal, but, Palace will have had as little rest as us.

Big shit Chris got a red tonight so he is out. If we get a win, we go 6 clear of Spurs. Then Spurs have Leicester on Sunday, a battle of the wannabes.

If we are 6 clear next week, with players coming back form injury I might start to believe again

Never heard of this Alphonso fella. Least I don't think so.

Without wishing to sound like Buzzo, is he really better than Robertson.

He's at Bayern and a beast of player. I wouldn't swop him for Robertson though.

No but he was in vogue after the CL win and his performance vs Barca

Only thiago (possibly milly) is a first team starter, the rest are basically squad fillers to allow some rotation.

Think we might walk the league again this season.

City are too inconsistent, bought Aguero almost 10 years ago and they're still reliant on him attacking wise.
Spurs and Chelsea have improved this season no doubt but their squads are title winning quality at present.

Still too early to say we will walk the league but weíre favourites for sure. Need to keep this up and try and get some daylight between us and the rest before the champions league games start again in February.

City, Everton, Spurs and Utd (and Arsenal but... meh) all have games mid week and we get to chill out until the 27th when we have to beat Fat Sam’s WBA.

Good times

We play United on Jan 18 - counting down to that one, though hopefully by then they've slipped up a few more times against low block teams

Apart from City, have they played anyone of note in the PL yet?

How the fuck can they be two points behind us?

They should make it 5 points for a win and 2 for a draw!

They have won 10 on the bounce away from home and they have talented players in attack. Plus they have been patient with their manager when they could have jumped the gun early on him. Stability and continuity help a team develop and itís clear to me they have been progressing. They will carry on improving for sure and they have the money to plug in the deficiencies they have.

They wonít win the league though but I donít think weíll have it as easy as what it seems itís panning out at the moment. Weíll know for sure over the next few weeks.

They drew with City and Chelsea, lost to Arsenal, got hammered by Spurs all at home

Reality bites for Spurs, this time last week they were joint top with a game against us to see if they could go clear. Now they are six points behind us. No sooner have they talked themselves up as genuine contenders then they find themselves lagging behind.

The EFL 1/4's have to be a monumental ball ache for those involved this week. (#inform) Man U, have got Everton on Weds, and then Leicester in the League on Boxing Day.

I actually think our schedule to the end of the year is not too bad and then Southampton away on the 4th. We play 3 games in 14 days. If we can pick up 3 wins, I imagine we will be more than 4 points ahead in the League.

Utd have Leicester away, Wolves home and Villa home in the League. But they play Villa on the first, so have 3 League and one cup match in 10 days. We have 3 League games in 14 days.

Should be an interesting couple of weeks.

In some ways they feel in a similar place to us in 2017-18. Very different style and quality of manager of course, but focused primarily on one style of play which, when it goes well, makes them look like world beaters, but on other days makes them appear completely toothless.

Really dont believe they have the consistency in attack to get the home results they need to challenge for the title but as you said Fredo, we will see in the next few weeks

Yeah the EFL is a distraction that Iím pleased for others to have but not us. Itís going to be an interesting few weeks as you say & hereís hoping we can pull clear of the pack & make our mark.

Fucking brilliant news!

Have you seen our midfield list? Holy shit this is top quality stuff..

In no particular order -

Thiago
Henderson
Wijnaldum
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Jones
Milner
Fabinho
Keita

Not a duff player anywhere in that lot and they'll soon all be in contention for a start..

It's outrageous - 8 fighting over 3 spots. It's probably one or two too many? Not complaining, and Milner's coming towards the end.

And not all available...

Henderson. Ok
Wijnaldum. Ok
Jones. Ok
Thiago. Recovering.
Oxlade. Unreliable.
Milner. Utility.
Fabinho. Defence.
Keita. Unreliable.

Gives us three certain midfielders, and couple of flaky sicknotes.

From not caring too much about our Aston Villa FA tie to now wanting to win it!! Surely, we will go strong now with not too much fear of fatigue? Villa have some tough PL games around then so they would be mad to go all out on this.

Potential line up:
Alisson,
Neco, Rhys Fab, Milner,
Ox, Keita, Jones,
Shaq, Minamino, Mane

For me it's not about the number of games or availability of players now, but later in the season, Normally the boxing day fixture is the half way point of the season this year we'll be 4 games behind and the season hasn't been extended that much (1 maybe 2 weeks) so this second half of the season will be crazy without it. 4th and 5th rounds have free dates but these mean moving from one game a week to 2.beyond that PL games have to postponed and dates found to play them. IMO we are way better off out of it early.
