Fair points. However that applies to nearly everybody else and everybody else is still in this cup too. Our main challengers in the league are also stupidly still in the Carabao for at least another game.

If we get past Villa and get a favourable draw in the next round we may be able to manage. But we have to be more clever about team selection than we were at Midgetland.

I know the main prize is the league but I'm secretly hoping we've built an insurmountable lead by the time we dispose of Utd in January. Then it's just the CL and FA. A treble is just so tempting.

That's enough fun and bloat.

Back to business.

Leicester's home form is iffy at best, and United are on a blistering run away from home.

And was it a year ago that we blitzed Leicester at their place?

So it's not looking great but I'm hoping for a Leicester win. Come on Brendan.

Hoping for a 5-4 Leicester. 4 ogs for a united, loads of suspensions, and plenty of fantasy football points for Vardy

A win tomorrow gives us a minimum 5 point lead at the top.

Yep. Draws are great for us when it’s others playing within the top 6.

Would prefer City to lose both...think both Everton and Chelski will be well off the pace and don't want City to build up a head of steam

Naturally a bit worried about us going forward. We blow hot and cold but I'm mostly concerned we won't sign CB cover and we're down to one senior CB (who played in midfield). Rhys may come good in time but it's far too early for him.

New year could be see us entering the nine circles of hell. Ironic given it won't be with Virgil.

Since Matip was always one game away from an injury every game, getting injured now might be ironically fortuitous. Bang on just before the window opens. Any plans we were thinking of shelving for the summer may be prioritised again.

Rhys Williams looked like he was running in slippers, we really need pace back there.

He's pretty slow isn't he, I was under the impression he was lighting quick but he has zero pace.

We've been having these games regularly this season. Long-ish break, easy team, complacency or told to play at 70% only to conserve energy. Get banged. But... Then the next two games we blow away teams. Hoping for much of the same while the others start taking points off each other, again.

Next game at Newcastle. CV running through City camp after playing Newcastle. Its not the best of scenarios. Obviously don't want any players/persons to catch it but from a selfish football perspective have to hope that they come back with negative tests before the game with us

Is it proved that the virus was transmitted via Newcastle players? Iíd think they would be tested anyway.

It hasn't. But if City plays were incubating the virus before testing positive they could have passed it to the Newcastle players.

It was an outbreak at the Hotel that City stayed at when they played Arsenal last week.

If City we're observing covid protocols they shouldn't have contracted it tbf. Mane, Thiago and Salah all contracted it from external sources and their behaviours stopped an internal outbreak at the club. City are entitled cunts that think they're above any kind of rules. Just look at Walker and Foden.

A 10 game winning streak would have almost ended this title race.........we've shit ourselves in a period of quite winnable games.

Mane was excellent apart from putting the ball in the net. Bobby and Salah were anonymous mostly. We certainly look short of goals from anywhere else, especially from outside the area. It will almost be a relief to play against Utd who will be confident enough to attack us and leave some space in behind.

Attack us.......have you seen them play vs a top 4 side. 5 at the back - McT and Matic in front and two fast lads up front to chase to the corners from long balls. I am more worried because we arenít scoring and are giving up chances

this. They will sit deep and counter. It is the only way Ole knows how to play but with the pace they have and with Bruno being on fire, it has been a very effective way to play this season.

We look blunt, lethargic and devoid of ideas. We are so predictable going forward, teams have learned to pack the box when Robbo and Trent get the ball and they are outain outlets. United will do exactly that.

Beat United and we'll be talking about the league again. Not half way yet and we've got too much quality not to turn this around. Maybe someone like Shaq needs to get a few games and Mo is put out of the firing line for a bit. We need to bring our unpredictability back.

Stopping the ball wouldn't be bad at all now TBH.

Come back fresh in a month.

Play within a couple days, and we look guff....have a week off, and we look guff......at least this way we can get a couple more legs going.

Far too early for full on doom and gloom. Plenty of time to play our way into form. We are Mia firing, but we werenít a million miles away tonight. Was a proper siege at times.
