No Villa thread so here will do. Mane missing from the training pics today...hence the usual rumours. Twitter has decided he's got covid.

Jota to start then.
Imagine a shit side winning the league due to their players not having to self isolate during the season.

This season is going to be a real lottery. Pure luck if you miss key players for big games. How many are going to come back from the internationals with it?

There surely has to be a massive chance of more positive tests to come? Not noticed huge amounts of Social Distancing?

2 players within 4 days. What’s the betting more players or staff will be affected in the coming days?

Also meeting up for internationals brings players from loads of different squads and countries into the same place and then back to their own teams. Could increase the spread in football significantly. Seems crazy to be going ahead with them

UEFA / Fifa should have done the sensible thing and postpone. We can't pull players out or we'll be penalised.
At the moment players are just exposed to their own club squad and the opposition they share the pitch with if there are a series of cases it should be easy to contain it. Internationals bring widen those numbers significantly

they should 100% bin off the international break - feels like a recipe for disaster with cases being on the rise across the continent.

Is it not the Euro 2021 play offs this weekend? They likely need to go ahead sooner rather than later but play offs and nation league fitures should be binned

We have a game this weekend, I don't know what or when the competition is I have absolutely no interest in international football. The issue isn't with the nature of the competition it's that the range of people the players are exposed to is widened significantly by meeting up with the international squads. Although we aren't using bubble terminology anymore the players are in a club bubble where they are only exposed to players and staff in that bubble and the players and staff of the opposing team they play that week.
International squads have 23 players from probably from typically 12 or so different clubs they are exposed to anything any of those other players might bring with them, then they take them back to their clubs when this is over. It's a small scale version of kids going away to Uni.

Another draw or defeat for them and they're gone I think. We just have to keep our nerve and get six points against Villa and Everton.
It's all set up for Brewster to score the winner on Halloween!

Behind closed doors football is like a Twilight zone. I can’t imagine seeing this amount of crazy score lines under normal circumstances. A real training match/Sunday league level of randomness.

Time to go on a winning streak and put everyone else back in their box.

Has someone been playing around with black magic during the last few days?
Mane isolating due to Covid, Alisson injures himself in training and out for at least 6 weeks, we lose 7-2 to Aston fucking Villa, and we can't shift any of our deadwood.

League confirms latest interim broadcast arrangements for fans
The Premier League today confirmed all fixtures until the end of October will continue to be made available for fans to watch live in the United Kingdom.
Under these new arrangements, the current live match selections will remain in place and will be broadcast as normal.
In addition, the five matches per round not already selected will be made available to supporters on a pay-per-view basis, accessed via BT Sport Box Office and Sky Sports Box Office platforms.
Clubs today agreed this interim solution to enable all fans to continue to watch their teams live.
The Premier League has worked closely with Sky Sports and BT Sport to provide this arrangement and is grateful for their support.
The agreement will be regularly reviewed in consultation with clubs and in line with any decisions made by Government regarding the return of spectators to stadiums.
Football is not the same without supporters at matches. The Premier League and our clubs remain committed to the safe return of fans as soon as possible.
An updated broadcast list of matches will be announced later today.
