Thiago Alcantara
It's time isn't it. Surely announced today. He's just said goodbye to Bayern.

Klopp in his Press Conference.
On Thiago.

A major piece in the puzzle to defending our crown. I’ve thought we need Another decent CB or do we play Fabinho there when necessary? Is Sarr any better than Origi?

Someone posted a Tweet yesterday (Shaggy?) suggesting that Fab would play CB if / when required now that we have another midfield option.

It’d be nice to see how the youngsters perform in the cup games

If we keep Wini then Fab at CB I suppose is a decent enough stop gap solution until we have enough money for a quality CB.
Oh and welcome to Liverpool Thiago, made up with this signing.

True.
Though doing some simple maths, that celebration was for Thiago's younger brother.

This looks to be an awesome signing. Can't help feeling in the champions league it's going to be a massive plus. Last year our away form was dire in the groups, this lad will give us control on the ball. I hope he settles quickly and stays fit. Nothing beats a quality incoming transfer.

Enjoy this 104 page thread from bluemoon where they are 110% definitely not bitter about us signing him:
https://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/t...316101/page-84
Quote:
Not seen his wages mentioned anywhere, but with that low fee I'd imagine he's on 300k+ There are rumours of Alaba asking for 400k, so thiago I'm sure would want similar. I assume Liverpool are telling the journos to keep hush hush on the wage front.

There is no end to what he can achieve with the Delusional Dreamers of Dipperland.
He could even stand as Mayor to displace the Everton supporter who spoke out against the dipper as they celebrated and this morning was on BBC as the only person in Merseyside treating COVID seriously.
|
Quote:
Put money on him winning POTY, regardless of whether he deserves it or not. Sky et al. will pipe him off every other minute of the game
|
Quote:
Funny thing is everyone is loving Thiago atm , but He doesn’t have pace , he can’t tackle so he’s basically a older rodri. Dippers lose some steal in midfield if he plays and he can’t press I see it as a negative imho
|
Quote:
Thiago is a faster version of henderson. Side to side, rarely moves out of position, technically very good but he isn't a player to unlock the door, he'll just shield the back four which might need more than a shield if the Leeds game is anything to go by.
|
Quote:
Thiago is a number 6, a deep lying playmaker. He doesn't fit our needs at all. He doesn't have enough legs or stamina unless a Fernandinho plays alongside him, even at Bayern it had to be Javi Martinez, Kimmich, and more recently Goretzka to support him. He's not quite the wonder boy to do it all himself, you can acknowledge quality and still realise he's not what we specifically need. As I said, makes more sense for Liverpool
|
Quote:
If he's that good why did Bayern let him run his contract down?
I know he is a lot younger, but we got £55m for Sane with a year left on his contract.

Dodgy money.
The cartel obviously willing to help out one of their own!
|
Accusing us of spending "dodgy money"
I will say though that the overall mood there seems very pessimistic and there lots of them expecting us to win the league again this season!

Given the success and great players/football City have had. They seem to take very little pleasure from it all. Very paranoid and twisted.

They really are a troubled bunch. The equivalent thread on RedCafe is far more reasoned , they're pretty gutted:

Because deep down they know they're cheating cunts.
I'm sure there's a good number of the old timers who derived more pleasure from the Dickov equaliser against Gillingham all those years ago than from any of the noddy cups they've won since the Sheik and his blood money rolled into town.

I know a number of match going City fans in their late 30s, 40s, 50s and older who fit that description entirely.

The same thing happened with Chelsea fans, I remember getting a Chelsea supporting cab driver in London and he missed the old days, said it didn't feel like his club since the money came pouring in.

I like the one that tries to make a serious point, and then refering to us as bin dippers.
What a load of bitter old bastards.
Literally couldnt give a fuck about City, why are they so obsessed?

This one tickled me 'Delusional Dreamers of Dipperland'
We are / were Premier League, European and World Champions.
Yet somehow we're delusional at the same time.
There's zero rationale when it comes to football fans posting on forums
