Southampton vs Liverpool - Premier League (20/21 - Game 17)

UK:
Monday 4th January at 8:00pm
Live on Sky Sports

Australia:
Perth Time: 5th January at 4:00am
QLD Time: 5th January at 6:00am
NSW/VIC: 5th January at 7:00am
Live on Optus Sports

-------------------

This is it!

A piss poor showing against Newcastle means our lead at the top is slightly precarious but it's still in our hands and next we get to grab three points from Southampton but it won't be easy. That's all I have to say.

Southampton keeper McCarthy out with corona.

And the reserve will have a worldie, as usual.
Also Vestergaard out injured.

Our form has been so up and down. We have looked brilliant at times like against Palace and at other times like West Brom completely flat. We need a good rhythm of tricky games to concentrate our efforts and with the return of the genius of Thiago I think we will go on a great run. Hopefully against Soton that will be the kickstart

That's quite a blow for them, he's been immense for them this season.

Just the mention of corona being in their camp has me slightly worried for our boys and our squad getting an outbreak in the days after the game.

Hopefully it's contained and they don't call the game off.

This could cause the wheels to fall off and is a genuine concern.

Salah, Thiago, Trent, Mane and Shaq have had it already, anyone else?

would be great to see Thiago start tonight...

My preferred team:

-----------------------ALISSON-----------------------

TRENT------WILLIAMS--------FABINHO-----ROBBO

--------HENDO------THIAGO-----GINI---------------

SALAH---------------FIRMINO-----------------MANE

Obvious weekness is in defense. But that team looks awesome. Also, Milner, Oxlade, Jones and hopefully Keita on the bench means we are starting to see the return of some strength in depth too. Will be great when Jota returns too

Good team but I suspect Ox or Jones will start, Thiago on the bench.

If we had some centre backs that midfield would be quite enticing.

It tells you how much Klopp rates Rhys and Nat - this is a big indication for me that we will buy a CB

Big risk that line up but I think itís purposed to increase control with the ball. My worry is out of possession weíll have to play the near perfect game as Southampton are very, very good.

Or that we will go to the end of the season with Hendo and Fabinho at Centre Back

Got to be hasnít it?

2 midfielders at centre back or alternating between the 2 youngsters vs bringing in a long term target a few months early?

We will be, but when weíre not so sure. Itís not going to be easy to get our first choice target in this window. Itís exacerbated by the whole COVID saga.
