I'm not buying this 400k a week bullshit either. He'll be getting given a hotel in whatever country he wants every new contract and some houses for his parents.

thats the bit that needs investigating. If he's getting 300k from city then he shouldnt be receiving any other "wages" from other sources not accounted for within the clubs accounts.

Iím still just so happy that they blew the CLÖ not that I donít think weíd be able to beat them- think it would be 50/50Ö but the next few weeks would be more stressful than I could take- especially when theyíre scoring 5 goals per game atm.

I’m sure the fans don’t care but it must eat away at the players and Pep that the whole football world doesn’t give a shit what they win. There’s a ton of ABLs that prefer City to win than us but even though don’t really give a shit about City and it’s more about us.

Every article about them has us in there somewhere and it must really piss them off

One of your gaelicers was supposed to come and play for my team this season but the shithouse changed his mind after signing a contract.

Yeah we chatted about Oisin Mullin last year. Cracking player and one that has the looks to be very marketable off of the pitch as well as the potential to be excellent in a pro game.

I reckon he may move to Oz at a later date as he is still only 21 or 22. I still stand by my thoughts on how he would do in Oz and think he would excel there as he is a wee bit stronger in build now than he was when we chatted about him and his reading of the game is second to none despite his young age. I also think that he may have had his head turned by another AFL team that is prepared to wait for him. Either that of the Gee part of your team is off putting to him as midland and west coast lads here would not take to being called a Gee head.

I think he is one of the best young footballers in the GAA and one of the few that I think would be good walk right into the Dub team where he not a Mayo man.

Fab playmaker from defence too.

To compare him to a football (soccer) player, he would have a touch of a Thiago to his play in that he is not the biggest lad on the pitch but can take knock and give them back, but seems to see a pass, by hand or foot, before other players and he has a lovely knack of being able to anticipate where an attacker is going to run and get in close enough to either nick the ball enroute to the attacker or to just jostle the attacker enough to cause the move to break down.

Would have enjoyed seeing him in the AFL once he has six months or so to adapt and bulk up a little as he has all the tools to be a bit special in Aussie rules.

German press reporting that he has a £150m release clause after 2 years.

He'll be off to Madrid at that point

So weird that Madrid wouldn't get him now. Assume that Mbappe is going to happen, or waiting for Barcelona to sort out their finances. He'll only be 23 by then.

What's the plan? Greater global exposure? Greater chance of CL success? The free hotel? The obscene, off the books bonus if he brings the CL? Then take himself off to a big club?

I know a few City fans through work and they hate how nobody cares if they win things. The common line from most is basically the "of course you did you spent billions" or "That's nice how many European Cups do you have?" They expect to be treated as if they have a history and have earned the right to be seen as the same as United or Liverpool. They havent they just spent a stupid amount of cash.

Think you could argue that they do have a history in the way any thing that is around a certain amount of the does, what they are lacking in is any real legacy.

Was reading the other day that they are now the fifth most successful club in England in terms of silverware if you include winning second division titles but of their 22 pieces of top level pieces of silverware, only 8 were won pre oil money.

So their history and legacy for the first 117 years as a club is 8 pieces of top flight silverware and 7 second division titles, everything else is from 2011 onwards.

All they are is a real world version of playing Fifa22 with the take over cash boost option set to the maximum and even in the game you can only financially dope your club once

I have never known a team that most proper football fans are so meh about. Characterless and a brief look at Bluemoon will show that like your workmates a fair few of their own fans have a chip on their shoulder about it.

Oh good, that sounds like it might be as good as the statue of Ronaldo in Portugal.

Or the one in Limerick in Ireland of the actor Richard Harris that looks like the Burger King king.

Of course he shouldn't. But it is already happening at that club for sure. No way they have such a low wage bill naturally

I might have said it before but me and the wife have been together since 1996. When I met her 13 year old little brother I asked him who he supported. He said, "Brazil". Couldn't believe it, I mean, he's a kid but supporting a national team over an English side is fucking weird. He went out the same day that England lost to Brazil in 2002, after the match finished, wearing his Brazil top. He was puzzled why he was getting funny looks.

He now supports Man City since they won their first title.

No joke. I don't speak to him about football. If I did that I may as well talk to the dog about her life as a social worker.

I had forgotten that City now have 3 statues of the great players from their history. Kompany, Silva and now Aguero. The first of which signed in 2008.They could have also put statues of players like Colin Bell or Franny Lee, the fact they aren't celebrating players of previous eras says alot

I think you find Bell & Lee played post football existing...... well according to all Sky, Prem League & all the new records currently being set.

People love Blackburn's story of how Jack Walker came in and put a lot of his own money into the club, bought some great talent (like Shearer) and won the league against the might of Man Utd.

Contrast with how representatives of a nation state with a bad human rights record came in and financed purchases through dodgy sponsorship deals and oil money, bought some great talent (like Aguero) and won the league against the might of Man Utd..

Anyone notice that pep didnít make any subs today? Same as the game against palace. Chasing a goal and you have foden and sterling sitting on the benchÖ hopefully it knocks their confidence!

Was thinking itís a balls that they have a full week to prepare the villa game now, but in a way it might be a good thing- a week in their heads, dwelling on the missed penalty, their shaky defense, what if they throw away the title 2 weeks after bottling the CL, etc etc etc.

Do the VAR people watch the match with commentary? If so Neville influences them with that penalty. Mouthing off how it’s a pen and it’ll be overturned.

Was saying this yesterday, Ooooohhhh, Ooooohhhh that a pen, they have to give that, he must look at that. Him and Tyler were devastated when West Ham were winning & sick when MAhrex missed the pen. I don't mind a wee bit of bias from time time but I am getting sick of listening to them all season long spouting blatant bias. Ooooohh, Oohhhhh shut the fuck Gary. He'll be delighted when City win the league.

Surely they must just get the raw video feed that goes to all broadcasters before commentary or analysis etc are added??

But but but he saved football don't you know?

Him, Carragher, Richards and all the other idiot nodding dogs.

Though we might be close to Carragher suddenly turning into it being "we" when talking about Liverpool should one of two more trophies come through the door.

Funny that I do not hear any complaints from the saviours of the game about the new CL set up or the extra sportwasher in the league......
