Probably in a pathetic attempt to keep Fat Fwank happy.

An ex-Liverpool club captain? Don't do it Jamie!

To be fair, is the guy not allowed to get a job at anywhere where Liverpool fans do not approve of? He isn't exactly a Liverpool born lad like Carragher/Gerrard/Fowler etc.

If he does want to get a job in football as opposed to punditry, then he is not really going to turn down the chance of joining Chelsea is he?

Anyway as Shaggy says, stop being so sensible!! You've got me at it now :haha:

They like the look of Jamie
EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL GONE Israeli is handed mission impossible
By Alan Nixon 21/09/2007

Chelsea want Jamie Redknapp to be part of their new-look management team in an astonishing move to give the club more glamour and popularity.

Sky TV pundit Redknapp has been approached about the post of Avram Grant's assistant as Roman Abramovich looks to shake up Stamford Bridge.

Redknapp is considering the amazing chance and should give his answer in the next 48 hours.

And if Redknapp - the former Liverpool and England star - accepts, he will become 'boss' to his cousin Frank Lampard.

Grant is loved by Abramovich but regarded as a 'grey' figure who lacks Mourinho's charm and charisma.

That is where pin-up Redknapp comes in as he is a well-known and respected figure who also has the kind of 'feel' that Abramovich thinks Chelsea have been missing.

So they're bringing people in mainly for their image? Seems this was also part of the reason Maureen was sacked. This is madness! it's surely a new low in football

anyone at Anfield last season when Crouch scored his goal against Wigan will have seen Redders go nuts.

don't get this hate him lark, TBO i'd prefer him at Chav's than Anfield.

We the best fans in the world only want our ex players to be involved in Liverpool then we'd have the likes of the GLove out of a job as KK would be on the turnstyles and Robbie selling hot dogs.

Put it this way, if he has any influence at all over the shape and style of the team, it is a good thing for us if he is part of the management team.
Redknapp rates himself too highly.

I've lurked at a Chelsea forum, and it gives me the impression that The Grunt is a very political and manipulative individual, so getting in Redknapp to appease Lampard would be typical of him.

I hope he goes he's one of the biggest pricks and clueless about football and will fit into Chelski.

He is one of the worst football Analyst's ever, i cant stand him............

......especially when he comes out with "I was on the phone to Frank last night and he's really looking forward to the match" or all the other players names he drops to make himself look cool that he's friendly with all the players, at this stage they probably see his name come up and let it go straight to voicemail

Now that Pako’s gone I think Rafa should bring in George Clooney. He’ll appeal to the American market and also the female market. Definitely makes good business sense. We need a more marketable management team!

True but we were talking about the management team.

Rafa and Pako were definitely a step up from those old ugs Houllier and Thommo but now we need some proper "eyecandy" if we're to make the step up to the next level.

I think we need to think carefully about who would come in and how their appearance would offset Rafas beard.

I think Clooney's stubble would be a good facial hair based one-two combo. The alternative if we are to look at the British market are limited so I suggest a complete contrast and go for David Tennant.

The contrast idea is pretty good. I did think of Jude Law but he might be something of a loose cannon.

If you think it's worth sounding him out I'll ask him next time I see him.

I would rather we didn't have the most punchable face in the country on the bench. Although maybe it could be a cunning ploy to get opposition players/staff sent off.

I don't even know what that means in reality. Why do they need a liaison?

Richard Keyes challenged him on it before the Newcastle game and Jamie denied there was any discussion about it and that he worked for Sky.

Keyes smirked and said "We'll decide that".

Who the fuck does he think he is? Does he think he owns Sky? I really can't stand that **** and I love it when Andy Gray pulls him up when he's talking shite.
