Ace footballers you might have forgotten about

In contrast to the other thread, some cracking players who've been cruelly forgotten.

How about Sheffield Wednesday's outstanding Swedish right-back Roland Nilsson? One of the best in the league at the time. Great player.

In retirement, Venison took up punditry for Sky Sports before moving to ITV and though he expressed articulate and knowledgeable views on the game, his on-screen performances were overshadowed by his rather flamboyant and garish clothing, combined with a streaked-blonde "mullet" hairstyle which he had sported throughout his playing days. He also popularised the phrase "It's just one man's opinion", before he eventually dressed more soberly for television and had a haircut. He later revealed he had rejected a TV role as lead reporter for a new show entitled Mullet Hunter.

Whilst still playing, Venison starter up an internet business called Bid4sport.com which he is still involved with. Bid4sport is an auction site dedicated to memorabilia that has been signed by professional sports-stars from all walks of life, such as Muhammed Ali, Ronaldinho, Paul Gascoigne and the England 1966 World Cup winning side. Not only does the site cater for the sports fan, but it also supplies celebrity signatures from the world of film, television and stage. All the funds raised from the auction site are donated to children's charities; bid4sport has donated tens of thousands of pounds to several worthy causes.

Venison now resides in Southern California with his family.

Also beg to differ with Fredo, I thought he was rubbish! Certainly no Roland Nilsson.

Kinkladze was a genius for a short period of time.

Ian Crook was a good playmaker for Norwich and Bowen was a good left back. Their team that beat Bayern had some really good players in it in nearly all position and Mark Robins

                  Good call.

What about Ali Benarbia?! Like Kinkladze, a genius for City for a short period of time. Marvellous talent.

Jeremy Goss (also Jerry) (born May 11, 1965 in Oekolia, Cyprus) is a former Welsh international footballer.

Goss, nicknamed "Gossa", a reference to Paul Gascoigne,[1] is most noted for playing for Norwich City from 1984 to 1996 (after having been a member of the club's FA Youth Cup winning team in 1983), and came to prominence during their successful period in the mid-1990s. Goss played in the midfield, and was known for scoring spectacularly but not often, most notably in Norwich City's away win over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup. He also has the distinction of scoring the last goal in front of the terraced Spion Kop at Anfield. He was awarded a testimonial during the 1993-94 season, which fittingly became his most successful season with the club.

Chris Fairclough had a bit of class about him when at Forest and early on at Leeds.

I remember his partnership with Chris Whyte, the guy who had some weird hair condition.

Des Walker - obvius, but impeccable at Forest and for England. Only turned ****eish when he went to Sampdoria.
