What a great move for him. Have to hold my hand up and say this guy is one amazing pro. He really is dedicated to the game and clearly wants to enjoy his career at the very highest level. Despite all the celeb circus around him and I think he will do very very well at Milan.

Agreed. I despised him post WC 98, but the guy has completely won me over and I would go as far as to say I love him. :D
Where would he play? I think he'd be great backup for Pirlo
He is a bit young for AC Milan, maybe into their acadamy

Not sure about that...he joined the MLS.

Perhaps he will get a central midfield slot he's always craved? His passing ability is certainly up to scratch.
I did read the other day that he was joining up to train with them so he would keep his fitness up for the England Qualifiers due to the MLS season ending soon so Milan must have just asked for a loan deal so he can help them out in the league and it will also help him with his match fitness, he'll still end up back at LA Galaxy when their new season starts again though.

Good, it will mean some station will pick up Italian football.

:handshake: True. Apparently Capello advised him he would need to be playing/match fit if he wanted to be considered for the National team.

I think he may be the first.
Other players who have recently played in all three leagues that I can think of off the top of my head are Thierry Henry and Julio Baptista.
Sissoko!
He is about as English as the Duke of Edinburgh!! :crackoff:

Of course. :handshake:
I think Beckham will become the first English player to have played in La Liga and Serie A. Just cannot think of anyone before - possibly Gordon Cowans or Laurie Cunningham?

Nice marketing move by Milan I can bet Addidas must be hapy as well as the sponsor both. I really can't wait for the overrated one-dimensional player to retire though.

Beckham to join Milan in January [BBC] (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7697377.stm)
AC Milan have confirmed that England midfielder David Beckham will join the club on loan from 7 January.
The 33-year-old's representatives held talks with the Italian giants on Thursday and quickly reached agreement on the terms of the deal.
Beckham, who plays for US side LA Galaxy, wants to stay fit during the MLS close-season and is set to return to the US in March for the new season.
Beckham, who has 108 caps, is keen to keep his place in the national squad.
England manager Fabio Capello believes Beckham's signing is a good piece of business for AC Milan.
"Milan have made a good addition," said Capello, who coached the Rossoneri from 1991-96 and 1997-98.
"At Madrid I left him out of the squad because he had signed a contract with Los Angeles but he continued to come on the field and train and I put him back in the team.
"He is a very serious lad, very sensible, a professional. People think he is a playboy off the field, it's not true at all.
Former England captain Beckham had been a target of Milan before, in January 2007, but opted instead to move to Los Angeles from Real Madrid.
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has given the blessing for the midfielder to join up with his squad, and provide more competition for places.
Earlier this week LA Galaxy announced they have postponed their December tour of Australia because of Beckham's impending move to Italy.
LA Galaxy had been due to face the Queensland Roar on 11 December in Brisbane but will rearrange the fixture for a later date, yet to be confirmed.
"We were not in a position to absolutely guarantee David Beckham's availability," said Galaxy's business operations president Tom Payne.
"To avoid disappointment for the fans it was decided to postpone this game."
However, the Galaxy will still play a 6 December fixture against an Oceania All-Star team in Auckland, New Zealand.
Beckham scored against Sydney FC last November, when the Galaxy previously toured Australia.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder is hoping that a move to Milan will boost his chances of selection in the national squad.

Very harsh. Anyone that says he isn't a good footballer is just plain wrong.

He's a good player but he's 33, past his prime, been playing in an uncompetitve league and is arguably no better than what they already have in midfield.
Just because he's a good player doesn't make it any less of a marketing ploy.
I can't see him starting many games for Milan.
Perhaps he will get a central midfield slot he's always craved? His passing ability is certainly up to scratch.
combine that with the slower pace of Serie A and he will be sorted out there. Bit odd to have just a 2 month deal though, a

That was the first time I ever felt sympathy for the guy.
Shearer gets us a goal dissallowed by being a dirty cunt in the box as per, and Beckham gets the blame for us losing cos he got sent off.
It was stupid, but it wasn't his fault we lost. We'd have still won if Shearer wasn't a dirty Bastard.
But yeah, back on topic, gotta have some level of respect for the guy.
He's a marketting icon, he could do anything he wanted with his time and still make a fortune from his name, but he's determined to go back to playing football at the top level so he can be ready and available for his country on the occasions where he's not snubbed.
Considerring he's an ex scum he's a good bloke and as an Englishman can't help but feeling some level of pride at his dedication to the cause.
