Whose great idea was this? St Helens start off by playing the number 2 seed, Hull. They win, but Hull get another chance and will now play Bradford for a place in the final. So St Helens come top of the league, beat Hull in a knockout but still get to play them in the final. Strange or what?

I hate Rugby League. Our kit man Graham Carter is a big fan though

I much prefer rugby union nowadays. I followed rugby league in my increasingly distant youth and enjoyed the success of Widnes and Wigan. I'll still look at the tables in the hope that the Lancashire teams are doing well.

Sorry, but I really don't enjoy rugby league. Union is the only game of rugby in my book.

Rugby League is a far better spectator sport than rugby union. The game is quicker, more expansive, and doesn't have all that mauling shite when 20 big fat blokes have a 'piley on' in the middle of the pitch! If they did that in RL - they'd release the ball PDQ, get it wide, and be under the sticks before you could say Jonah Lomu ! :p

They might be cancelling it actually.
The Broncos are going to rest all their players involved in the Tri-Nations for eight weeks after it finishes, which means they'll only return to training the week of the WCC. Rumours are it may be cancelled.

I think it's a really tedious game to watch. It's like tennis in slow motion. I think gay men would enjoy it.
I live in St Helens by the way - I should be enjoying the success, but it really isn't my thing. Watching the final on telly today I found myself constantly questioning the ridiculousness of it all. For example - what's the point in the scrum? The team with the ball just throw it to their own team, so why not do away with the scrum and just let the team with the ball have the ball?
Ian.

Same with the throw-in in footie mate. They throw it to their own player every time. It would be much better if the linesman just handed the ball to the team which earned the throw.
