Kuyt said: "Rafa told me he wanted to give me a new contract, but because of his own contract he wanted to sort that out first and then we'll see what's happening.
"I've just been trying to focus on the games and not worry too much.
"Because I'm happy at Liverpool and I enjoy it I want to stay. I don't know if my future is linked to the manager, because that depends on what the club wants.
"If the club want to give me a new contract, I'm more than happy to talk about it."
The Kop boss has repeatedly been scathing about Parry's failure to seal new agreements for a group of players whose contacts expire at the end of next season including Kuyt, Daniel Agger, Alvaro Arbeloa and Emiliano Insua.

This sort of struck me. Benitez wouldnt waste a second to sign Kuyt because we all know he loves him. But telling him NOT to sign until he knows whether he will is a bit of a slap. Is it really possible that Agger getting unsettled and still not signed up is most likely Benitez' fault? Do you think he's purposely saying them to wait incase he gets really frustrated with his own contract, leaves the club and is able to buy these players cheaper since their contract is about to end? Thats how its looking to me. Not offering a new contract is generally the BEST way to unsettle a player. Which generally means the team becomes unsettled.
Considering the way we've imploded over the last few months its evident that the team is stressing over alot of things and cant focus. Obvious owners doing their magic, Parry doing his magic, Benitez doing his magic. Too many rabbits, not enough hats. Its gotten too clustered.
To be perfectly honest, and I expect a backlash as you cannot say anything negative EVER, I'm hoping Benitez doesnt feel like staying and heads off. I think his influence is becoming a little negative and I've not been happy at all with his transfers lately. Wanting to sell Alonso is still a massive sore point with me. And I'm not happy with the way the team has been playing for years. I still miss Garcia.
