    Marc Overmars

Was watching FA Cup classic around lunchtime, featured game was PNE n Arsenal back in 1999, PNE were 2 up
but Gooners ended up winning it 4-2.

Anyway that game reminded me of the great Marc Overmars, what a ****ing talent this lad was, pace to burn, quick feet,
direct, skillful, 2 footed, great finisher, unselfish, brilliant player.

How odd. I recently had a weird flashback to that game - I remember watching the highlights on MOTD (or Sportsnight or whatever it was back then) without knowing the score. Great game.

Overmars, on his day, was superb. Inconsistent though, but then most great wingers are/were. Had the privilege of watching him play a few times, notably for Barca when they gave us a footballing lesson. He came on as sub, was very impressive, and scored.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

His career went downhill in Barcelona though.

It did. He was getting on though and, like most players with blistering pace, suffered with a load of muscular injuries. I imagine they took their toll.

Sorry I thought this thread was going to be from Speedy saying Overmars was signing for £20mil even though he's retired and crocked. It's in the Echo apparently.

I know the feeling. It always takes some effort to bring myself to click on a thread that was started by Marky18.

It's my job to handle life and death situations on a daily basis. It's what I do, and I'm very good at it.
